Forums - Gaming Discussion - Mass Effect Thread: Leviathan is out, buy it, it's great

Still running into bizarre glitches all over the place. The game might not be 'as buggy as hell' like people say Skyrim is, but its still has more glitches than any other game I've played. Just had a very strange one when I met up with Jacob again, after he spoke to Shepard he then turned to thin air and said it was good to see it again. Even stranger, the thin air reciprocated!

Once, near the end of a particularly glitchy online game (around round 8) I just floated up to the ceiling and stayed there, and kept spasming into the ceiling. I couldn't escape.

I wasn't about to give up on all of that experience after playing eight rounds, so I just waited there for the next three rounds. The other players must have wondered what the hell was going on.

Downloaded the Resurgence Pack, disappointed to find the Batarian and Geth characters are locked. Have they automatically been unlocked for anybody or do I have to go through the process of unlocking them through equipment packs?

They are allready available cool :)

I´ve read today that Mass Effect 3 has sold about 1.5 millions units in march, but according to VgChartz it has alone on the 360 sold more then 2 million. Are the VgChartz numbers so incredibly inaccurate or are this the shipment numbers, because according to the articel i read it shipped about 3.5 million units.

That number seems strange... if it only sold 1.5 out of 3.5 million shipped... that would mean the game really bombed wouldn't it?  Or didn't sell even close to expectations

Maybe the numbers are mixed in the article up and its like 1.5 million sold in NA (which is what VGC has it as) and shipped 3.5 million worldwide. Both of those seem in line with VGC numbers.

Which mean means the article is just crappy.

VGC has been really off recently, but idk about that analyst.

here is a deleted cutscene with Ashley Williams

This seems like an appropriate time to bump this topic, given that the Extended Cut is out now and people are actually finding their enthusiasm for it reignited.

So I played through the EC the other day - as my canon Shepard first, then as my Ultra Renegade Shepard, who is a dick.

I think it safe for me to say that I like Liara best as romances go, the way the relationship with her plays out over the trilogy feels relatively genuine - now I haven't done most playthroughs yet, so I can't say for certain, but so far I like the thing with Liara most.

I still flinch whenever anyone in this game says "I love you," though. It's one aspect of the romances that I thought could be handled better.

But, as it relates to the Extended Cut:

When Harbinger blasts that tank onto your squadmates and you have to get them evac'd - in some ways it's not a great scene, really breaks up the flow of that battle, but you know what? That's okay. I like how it goes after that.

"Get out of here!"

"You can't make me leave you!"

"Liara, one of us has to survive. Do you understand me? You have to get out of this alive!"

"Shepard!" And there's the pause, the silence, where she's still reaching for Shepard, and then her voice is soft, barely heard over the din of Harbinger slaughtering your troops: "I... I'm yours."

And then she's gone.

It felt emotionally genuine to me, and served as an excellent endcap for the relationship that you'd been building up for years.

Also, point of order, this game's soundtrack is still fantastic:

The Extended Cut was a huge improvement on the original ending. Destroy was a bit of a letdown, though. Too open-ended.

I think referring to the endings by color will probably be more spoiler-friendly i nthe logn run, since thei colors are kind of memetic at this point.

In reference to Red, it's kind of interesting, though, in that this was the ending we were ultimately shooting for way back in 2007:

You kill all the Reapers, you kill all the geth, you kill that dick AI on Luna but for real this time, you restore some element of the status quo after having united the galaxy, and things go back to as they should be, with organic life forging its own path through history - and Shepard maybe even returning to active Specter duty, who knows.

I mean if you look at it one way it's rough, but if you look at it that way it's kind of hilarious

That is interesting, yes. But then Red is what Captain Anderson had been pushing for the whole time, remember? It's the status quo.

Definitely the hardest part of Red was having to kill the Geth after they had become so great in my eyes. I really couldn't care less about the fact that we didn't have giant death machines/a creepy omniscient god wandering around.
