yes because its the HDD size that will make the huge difference in production costs.. rolls eyes* games with a 5GB instal this gen won't even work on the thing, let alone game instals next gen!

i do agree with him on the Wii U at least. If you look at the device, there's really no room for an HDD on there.

Which is good. Anything to discourage the ability to easily run patches, which in turn encourages developer sloppiness

Ok, sometimes it's hard to predict, but this kind of stuff is just, ridiculous, and doesn't make sense... Only if Sony don't come with PS3 backwards compatibility in PS4, wich will turn in suicide, every PS4 model will have HDD that's obvious...

As long as they have the option to upgrade the HD with your own one (or externally like with the wiiu), I couldn't care less how much memory the come with.

Sorry what?  The Wii U will have onboard flash memory.  Already confirmed.  You do realize how small SSDs are right?  Or flash chips on the board which are even smaller.  Compact flash.

Also, Hard drive prices are not cheap as "bread" right now.  The flood has jacked up HDD prices.

I see something in my crystal ball for next gen; this man will be wrong a lot.

I have a theory here: Pachters KNOWS his predictions are wrong. If want to have the real prediction, you just have to take opposite of what he says. He does this to prevent spilling the beans and to have too much impact on the industry.

even if the consoles have a 4gb model. a new HDD will be like $70 for 500gb. assuming prices are still high from the floods in taiwan, but are console HDD made in taiwan? if not then $40 for 500gb.

Way to make it even more PC-like...
