What a fantastic list!! I actually never bought a game twice myself because I have kept every game I own since I was a child!
Xenogears, Skies of Arcadia, and Final Fantasy 8, Ocarina of Time, I have played 7 or 8 times each (lost count though, I am guessing this number since I have played them no less than once every 2 years since they launched). To me, these are my elite games which I will keep coming back to.
Others include: Final Fantasy 7, Mario RPG, Illusion of Time, FF Tactics, Ogre Battle 1 and 64, etc... at least 3 times (sometimes I do half playthroughs on this one)
Final Fantasy Legend 2, E.V.O., Final Fantasy Adventure, Terranigma, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and Final Fantasy 6 I have played no less than 10 times each (they're short, and I love them each so much)
Games like Mario 3, Faxanadu, Dracula's Curse, DKC 1, 2, 3, Civilization 2, Europa Universalis, and Sim City 2000 I don't count because it's not fair due to the nature and/or lengths of the games - I would say dozens for each game at least.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
DA:O, ME2, COD4, Rome Total War, other than that, I can't remember. Fable I/II would be on that list too, along with the Halo: CE
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
Shining Force 1 and 2 at least 10 times each. Probably closer to 15. Still love them both to this day and would trade my left nut for a current gen Shining Force game!

Assassin's Creed 1, 2, B - 2x (couldn't make it past the first hour of revelations)
Mass Effect 1, 2 - 3x
Gears 2 - 2x
MW 1, 2 - 2x
Fallout 3 - 4x
Super Mario Bros: countless
Super Mario World: 3 times, years apart
Paper Mario TTYD: 4 times
Mario Sunshine: 3 times
Pokemon first three gens: 3-5 times each (earlier = more times)
Pokemon TCG: 3 times
NSMBWii: countless
Random Fire Emblem games: ~3 times each
Digimon World 4: Tons of play time and playthroughs
MegamanX 4-8: countless
Other than those, I sometimes play a game a second time if I really like it
...I start and stop playing multiplayer games at random (Mario Kart, SSB) but never completely stop until the next iteration comes along

And that's the thing. Maybe not all, but maybe 80% of those games, I still have the other version when I buy the new one. I got Resident Evil 4 from Xbox Live in 2011 when I have a perfectly good working Wii Edition and Gamecube version at home. I bought Street Fighter 4 on the 3DS last year. I got Metal Gear Solid HD collection in November and then got Metal Gear Solid 3 for the 3DS, yesterday!! I won't even go into Ambassador games, Virtual Console, and the other 3DS remakes/re-releases. It's just too depressing.
I may ask a mod if I can necro-bump that thread. I just realized that I re-bought a lot of games in 2011.
