I think it's worth it if you can afford it, but if not, it's best to wait for a price reduction.

I think I do OK in life with plenty of savings, I can easily afford a Vita: But why? I think have multiple systems is overkill when you work 40+ hours a week (sometimes more if I get OT) and a 3DS and one console is plenty. Since most of the games on the Vita can be found on consoles in some shape or form it feels like overkill. THe only game i'd buy for it right now us Luminies, which oddly enough is the game I would get when I got my PSP years ago (back then I worked less, and multiple systms was more ok. Now I don't want to have a giant backlog of games if I can help it.)

I don't think $250 is unreasonable for a portable system if it has some insane launch titles and can do other things other systems can't. I think It's obvious the 3DS can't compete with the Vitas graphics though, but thats why the 3DS has the 3D gimmick/feature.

It's just that simple.

Also First Party Nintendo > Sony (HANDHELD WISE).

I would have to say that this would depend on the gamer.

I dont care about mario, his karts or his problems with bowser.

For me, Uncharted > Mario, his karts, his green budy and all the other mario themed or based games combined.

Too bad the Vita here costs a little under $400 which is just wrong.

Been following CheapyD's experience with the Vita and while it looks beautiful it just doesn't seem worth it. Meh titles outside of Luminies, and they are doing the same thing they did with the PSP (IE portable versions of console games, not my cup of tea. Granted the 3DS has some to, but seems to be a bit much on the Vita.)

Also First Party Nintendo > Sony (HANDHELD WISE).

So no.

What's wrong with portable versions of console games? Most of them work really well on Vita (Rayman, FIFA, Wipeout etc.). It has plenty of handheld exclusive games too

There is nothing wrong with it considering games like Resident Evil, Mario Kart, Mario Land, Zelda and Starfox are no more than portable console games.

I think people are putting it down for not not having bite sized games like those on smartphones, but the fact is, neither does the 3DS, but you don't see whining about it's games where you could easily find their equivalents on consoles.

Although I was wrong because it does in fact have games that you can play if you only have 10-15 minutes to spare. Want those bite sized games? Try the minis. Try Mutant Blobs Attack. Try Plants Vs Zombies (Touch screen makes this a totally different game from the one on PS3). Try Escape Plan. Try Little Deviants. Try Lumines.

If that isn't enough, try MLB 12 The Show, which had tweaks and adjustments done to make the game accessible to those who want to play through a baseball game in 10-15 or even 15-30 minutes (Lunch Time BABY!).

So much fallacy being thrown around about the Vita right now.

Point is that many of the ones making these claims tend to be the ones who have only demoed the unit in Bestbuy or Gamestop where the demos available to play are Uncharted, Gravity Rush and the only small game being Escape Plan. These people probably never took the time to check the Vita store and all of the small bite sized games it has available.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Lol I got a kick out of that.

Wipeout and Uncharted should be enough to make the vita a worthy purchase. Also the ability to play your PSP games in high resolution is a really cool bonus. But I have this feeling we'll get a value bundle pretty soon at $199 including a memory card.

Personally I'm gonna get a Vita in 2013 if Sony pushes the PS4 launch back to 2014. If they release the PS4 in 2013 I'll get that instead of a Vita.

Well I got an amazng deal on a PSP Go last year (99 Euro and it came with 10 free games) so I can play all my PSP games on the Vita since I have to use PSN anyway

just remember what happened with the 3DS high price.. lol.. price drop will come sooner than later
