Forums - Gaming - Quick question about the Wii-U/ Vita TV interface

The U controller uses the gyroscope for this purpose, the front facing camara would only point at the TV if you turned the controller away from you.

On other news, the Sony patented used the camera method you mention.

The last part in the OP about Sony copying was just to get hits--and a cheap attempt at humor.  I really did have a question, though.  The question has been answered so I'm done, here.

The funny thing is that some of the Sony patents that have been going around do seem like the AR method you got confused with.

Glad you know now.

I must be the only person living in this magical world where Nintendo's R&D department is years behind its competitors.

Also don't troll too hard, seeing a lot of bans as of late.

Yeah you are ...

I personally live in the real world where R&D is not a straight path, and there are countless paths that can be taken that lead to advancement in any particular field.  Much like how a more fuel efficient car can be seen as being equally as advanced (or more advanced) as a more powerful car, being a far more accessable platform can be seen as being equally as advanced (or more advanced) as a more powerful system.
