^^Yes, but PS2 kept on selling more and more each year and it's now been 8 years and it's still selling!!
That's what the Wii has to do , once again that is what we are debating about.

people still call me 3-4 times a day from an ad i put on craiglist 12/24 for wii for $350

still calling me that often, not to mention the emails

this is in a big city, where dozens if not 100s of wii sales posts are put up a day

that's how much demand outstrips supply

the latest plain wii went for 325+35 shipping on ebay

that is > 360 arcade price and the same as 360 standard price

I think that's a valid question and I'll try give it a valid answer

  • Super Smash Bros
  • Mario Kart
  • WiiFit

Probably the biggest 3 software titles that the Wii is boasting in '08 the first 2 probably won't apeal to the type of people who buy Wii's and I highly dought that they are titles that people would buy consoles for ( however I could be wrong on this )wheras WiiFit is most definetley a system seller no dought about it , perfect mass market software , mass worldwide apeal.


Oh fer....The typical Wii gamer is still a normal gamer, not some home maker or octagenarian. SSB and MK are two of Nintendo's biggest franchises, and putting both online will drive demand that much higher. They will be aimed right at the market that made Mario Galaxy, Zelda TWiP, Super Paper Mario, Mario and Sonic, and Mario Strikers million sellers.

As for overall console sales, production is up, and if the Wii console sales do start to dry up, Nintendo could easily drop the price under $199 - and still clear a profit! There is almost no way that Wii sales will go DOWN this year.

With the Wii's monthly production nearing 1.8 million and still climbing, it is almost inconceivable that they won't tack on at least another 20 million by the year's end - more if they get production to 2 mil a month or more.

and ps2 didn't sell out nonstop for 13 months

wii has

there is no reason using sales history of wii to predict it will sell less than last year

the only reason to do so is a 'gut feeling' or because u don't like it

no data supports the wii slowing down

wii sold 566k consoles last week after Xmas...

remember, supply has NEVER hit demand in the wii's lifetime

so demand could lower 50% and still outstrip supply, leading to sell outs all year and 45mil consoles by end of this year


ie demand could have been 90mil last month and now only be 45mil, even tho demand lowered, it still outstrips supply
