I think it's just that the Sony fans can be very annoying. That's the only reason why I have any animosity towards Sony. Everything Playstation related is given God-like status from their fans and it gets annoying. I like my PS3 and don't hate Sony but their fans just get to me. They could release a turd and the fans will come and praise it for having such a strong smell and claim it's AAA before a trailer comes out.

I think it stems from the fans being used to being the #1 console by a large margin then suddenly dropping to dead last. They now have to hype every little thing to make it seem like it's doing better than it is.

I know other fans can be annoying but there's just something annoying by the way some Sony fans whine.

PS: I also realize that not all Sony fans are annoying so you don't have to tell me and am not trying to lump them all together.

Are you telling me that Ninty and MS fans don't do the same thing?

Actually to a degree I think he is right. Infact that is what I hated about Sony fans in the past aswell, anything exclusive almot got instance status of being the GOTY! Nintendo and Microsoft fans have done it to a degree, but nothing at the level of sony fans have shown. Given in the past couple of years it has been tone down from sony fans, still some what exists.

I remember users calling someone the r word because he wrote a personal review and gave Smg2 a 9/10. He got tons of hate. It was ridiculous. I also remember a lot of "Halo x shits all over Uncharted x" comments. There are just as many annoying statements from Sony fans, as from Ninty or Ms fans. It just sounds worse when one bashes something you like the most though.

You weren't around during 2008 so you have no idea...I blame MGS4 for bring most of the hell that 2008 brought foward.

Actually I was. I just made an account much later. But, to be honest, MGS4 is the only ps3 game I can remember that got praised by every reviewer I came across and all the people I know (it was a turning point for ps3). Even uncharted 2 got criticized for its linearity.

I do not understand why anyone could hate Sony's Vita or any other console. I can understand that you may not care for it so you probably more than likely would not buy it, but that's a little different than saying that you hate it. Now saying that, Xbox360 caught heat with RROD and Nintendo Wii was gimmicky and doomed. Now that someone has something to say about Playstation Vita, they're hating or a hater. I want the Vita to succeed and I have my reasons.

People love to hate SONY? Here on VGChartz, it seems to be Microsoft that everyone loves to hate.

Yeah, I hate Sony, I'm not going to lie about it. I been playing Nintendo my entire life and they haven't disappointed me yet. I used to own a PS2, but after awhile it got boring and I gave it to my sister. PSP was an absolute mess for me, the only game I liked on there was Kingdom Hearts: BBS. Forget about PS3, no games at all. I respect them as a company, but gaming is not their thing.

The PS3 is right behind the 360, how is that dead last?

What?

Out of three, it is third.

It is the third of three.

The last.

The lowest.

That which has the least sales: Playstation 3.

"Dead last" just means it's in last place. It's strong language, usually suggesting that there are more than three competitors, but it is not technically wrong.

When I hear dead last, i'm thinking losing by a mile so to speak. Like being behind by a significant amount or that it is so far behind , it shouldn't even be in the race anymore because it will never catch up to the other contenders. I don't disagree that the PS3 is last or in third place, that's obviously true, but to me, again, deal last is losing by a land slide. It seems we both have different meanings of "dead last", I just personally don't think it would be proper to say that the PS3 is dead last, it isn't that far behind.

Sony fans and their persecution complex are pretty funny especially with all the flak they throw at MS.

It's in third place out of three, so it's dead last.  If it passes the 360 then the 360 will be dead last.

I don't think it's as wide spread.  It could be that I just notice Sony fans doing it more but from my perception, Sony fans are the worst.  I'm not going to claim I have no bias towards the 360 though.

let's just agree to disagree.

Based on how things have panned out over the last 5 years for Sony, I'd say that they are their own worst enemy.

They started out with a bang by alienating current customers expecting a $299 PS3 with a $599 PS3, while suggesting that those who called "too pricey" could work harder or get a second job. It's not like they couldn't have pushed the angle that they were already losing over $200 per unit (in all fairness, generally NOT the way to market a product), in essence, giving early adopters a $200+ discount, and instead encouraged the common complaint "I shouldn't have to pay for all that extra crap that I don't want" ie Blu-Ray. Situation mishandled beautifully.

When it came to the very games that were supposed to sell the hardware, they simultaneously did owners of the PS3 a great service by consistently releasing exclusive titles while neglecting to properly promote each title, presumably due to overall marketing funds simply being spread too thin.

Despite what some believe, marketing matters and can be the difference between a great title barely breaking a million units, and an above average title selling multi-millions.

While there is a lot of constructive criticism from Sony customers in terms of what they would like to see improved or added, it's arguable that the most outrageous criticism is actually coming from those who either aren't even Sony customers, or who at best made it a point to buy everything used so as not to support Sony, but play the platform exclusives to validate their negative opinions.

As for the Super Fans, the reality is that every company has theirs. Those who consider it a great privilege to pay for XBL or insist cross chat is worth $60 a year, those who pushed the assumption that the Vitality Sensor would be the next Balance Board and that they couldn't wait to play Wii Relax along with the tens of millions who would undoubted buy it, breaking new sales records for the Wii.

They are terrible, and annoying, regardless of which company they choose to cheer lead for.

As for the Vita, granted I don't watch a ton of pre-programmed TV, the level of marketing for a platform that could make or break SCE is underwhelming to put it mildly.
