Hey guys and gals,
I just wanted to express my enthusiasm and total satisfaction with the Circle Pad Pro add on for the 3DS. If anyone was skeptical about its quality or functionality, fear no more. I now understand what the infra red eye on the back of the unit is for and it works great and I can see potential for it in other ways now too.
The unit feels comfortable in the hands and perhaps more-so to me because the larger size fits my hands better than the 3DS itself (its like holding a console controller). The 2nd circle pad feels sturdy and smooth through its movement and really helps with navigating through the game, it just adds so much more precision in the controls being able to position the camera whilst moving around. Also, the addition of the Zr and Zl shoulder buttons to the R and L is spectacular for RE and I'm sure will greatly benefit games in the future such as Monster Hunter 4 and Metal Gear etc.
My only gripes if there are to be any is that:
1. I personally wish for my hands that the right side had more bulk to it so my thumb would more naturally land on the circle pad as it wants to rest inbetween that and the ab buttons, though it would make reaching the ab buttons more difficult for those with smaller hands.
2. They didn't also make the unit include a battery source to extend battery life of the 3DS, which would have really made it a sick package...though the down side to that is that it would cost quite a lot more I'm sure.
Even if a new model with a 2nd circle pad were to come out (which I highly doubt), I fail to see them also adding the 2nd set of shoulder buttons as they would have to increase the thickness of the unit too much to make it happen. So, for what you get for 20 dollars...its a no brainer. It's an excellent (and quality made) peripheral that really adds a whole new level of options and control to the 3DS system for any games that choose to utilize it. Trying to play without it just feels wrong now. It's a must have.
