No dude don't buy Skyrim on PS3, me and my brother put more then 100 hours into the game and we got the platinum trophy for it. Our savefile was bigger then 16MB.

Whenever there was fighting going on my fps dropped literally below 1fps. Huge framerate problems, it takes forever to load and save with such a big savefile.

I got the Skyrim PC version, no I didnt pay for it, it was my right to get a playable version of this game. So now I play this game on 1080p @ Ultra on my 50" tv via my htpc.

wait you had a capable PC yet you brought the game on PS3? Why? what insanity drove you to make such a decision? The PC version was always going to be 10x better plus it was cheaper!

Lol I just recently upgraded my htpc :P

Does this issue also occur in the 360 version? I have it for ps3 (but haven't played it much yet) but I also own a 360 so...

70 hours in, no major problems apart from little bits of stutter. A few of friends have played closer to 150 hours without any serious complaints apart from a few glitched quests

As for the PS3, wait a little bit! The 1.4 patch has only come to PC so far, so wait until it actually comes to PS3 before deciding what to do, as I am sure people will give feedback on whether it fixes things

Yes guess I'd be stupid not to at least wait to see if it fixes things...I certainly have enough unplayed games to keep me busy for now (I'm just getting paranoid cos I keep reading that Fallout:New Vegas suffered from a similar problem and it was never fixed. Don't know if this is true -never played it - but it troubles me none the less!)

From what I have read ( I have never actually played it, though I do have the game sitting on shelf...) they fixed it enough for you to play the game for like 100 hours, but then things get dodgy, which seems acceptable to be honest

Definately wait for 1.4.  Currently on PS3 the title is still not fully fixed.  The last patch made it much more stable and did reduce the lag issue but it didn't remove it.  My understanding is 1.4 is supposed to fix it fully.  I think they only partially fixed New Vegas but not sure how much it sold on PS3 - Skyrim I'd wager has sold enough they know this time they have to fix it.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It is beyond me how the PS3 version of this game reviewed so well, considering such a hideous problem exists in it. What's the point in reviews if they don't criticise heavily for this kind of stuff?

Actually it's not that hard for reviewers to have missed this particular problem for the PS3 version. Remember that the majority of the lag issues present themselves mostly after the 100th hour mark, a mark that few, if any, reviewer ever hit in order to review a game.

You can play a good 60 hours (like the VGC reviewer did) and get a good feeling for the game. The first signs of this problem began a couple of weeks after the game released (when the first gamers reached that mark), and only then did the issue became common knowledge.

If this issue had been present at that very start and reviewers had glossed out over it, then they would have done a poor service to the gamer community (as it happens with a truckload of games), but in this case, it would have been very hard for them to spot this.

Actually yes...that's a good point!

Was waiting for it too, but now I'm looking elsewhere...

I say buy it, can't be that bad.

S'posedly the new patch is out...some reports say it fixes the issues (on ps3)...some say it fixes 'em for a while. Others say it doesn't help at all. Anyone here tried it?
