Forums - Sales - Global Up! - 28th January

i did never see a forza advert in germany and gran turismo gets advertisement in any racing sport like formula 1, le mans, dtm , wrc... on the drivers overalls and on the cars and blabla so i really don't wonder gt sales are so much better. they invest like 100 million only in advertisement (no clue about the real costs but they even make advertisement for gt 3 years after the release and before next release) and yeah that'S the reason gt sales are always high. wouldn't make sense to make advertisement and don't sell a a game anymore...

what i wish to say is: if gt sales would be only 5k per week this would be a huge fail with this amount of advertisement even nowadays and thinking about the costs for advertisement i really don't know how much money will be after all of that, maybe turn 10 makes more money after costs than polyphony does (ok i don't believe that but the difference won't be as much as many think)

This week the DiRT became the 132th million seller on PS3... GREAT.

Didn't we have an entire thread 'bout Forza4 vs GT5 that got almost everybody banned? For how long will the Church of Gran Turismo continue to hijack the sales threads?

skyrim(360) sales have been holding at 70k+ for the past 3 weeks. At this rate it will reach 6mil very quickly. Oblivion managed to sell over 2mil after its first year, and its first year sales started at march rather than november as they did with skyrim. I think 8mil isn't out of the question ltd for skyrim(360) if the 360 stays relevent long enough.

PS3 version has been fluctating a bit more but it has stayed above 60k.  4mil will happen soon enough. 5mil+ is a safe guess for lifetime sales. And it should get relatively close to 6mil.

PC version is holding at 30k+ and looks like it will be the best selling pc game in a few weeks as TOR is falling rapidly. Should pass 2mil relatively soon with just physical copies.

PS3 just beat the 360 in software sales for the first time in 7(?) weeks.
PS3 still #1 selling console.

Surprising to see a 3rd party 3DS title debut at #1 on the global chart.
Nice to see PSV sales picking up as well!

Amazon prices are lower for just about every videogame out there. But of course Zane's comment is rather ridiculous nonetheless.

it just managed to pass gears 3 last week. The lead will grow quickly considering its more than tripling gears sales weekly.
