As long as they stay away from Metroid I'll be fine with them.

But the gameplay was fantastic.

I think Retro did a good job, especially with the first Prime. But honestly I like more the direction of Super Metroid/Other M.

No guys, it really wasn't.  Repeatedly tapping the D-Pad so I can dodge everything is not good gameplay.  Neither is that nailed to the ground while I shoot missiles nonsense.  I'm a big Nintendo fan and a big Metroid fan, but that game was bad.

There were some correct points, i felt. Namely i believe they found a good way to replicate the feel of 2D Metroid gameplay (if not the spirit of 2D Metroids) in a 3D space. The dodge mechanic felt like a natural addition for very fluid movement (which i'm finding is increasingly more important to me in a game). The first-person aiming mode was smooth, but ultimately unnecessary.

Essentially, if they dropped first-person-aiming and replaced it with "press minus to switch weapons," and restored Super Missiles into their own class, then made the game more exploration-friendly and restored health/missile pickups, you'd have something quite good.

What they should do is remake Metroid II with the Other M engine, but make the adjustment for missile usage. Then we could really test its viability

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I liked Other M very much. Refreshing and innovative.

Well for me the only thing that bothered me was the fixed FPS sections and the long cut-scenes. I want to play a game not watch a movie. The dodging was fun. Other than that it was a solid game in my opinion. i think i gave it an 8 or something

I wouldn't see why not. More money for them, they themselves claimed development was easy, and Dimensions supposedly did decently enough, not to mention the creation of a decent rapport between Nintendo and Tecmo of late.

Lol why do you randomly say hi to people? ^_^

Look at the thing I posted!!!!!! Its a question for you on my wall! Look!!!!!!!

Other M was awesome, the combat was great and so was the camera. They just need to expand the playing field and make it less linear.

Also, the cutscenes were not long...but I'm saying this as a person that's played Xenosaga.
