Not that good actually. Eyes don't see in terms of FPS.
Here's a good explanation: http://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_can_humans_see.htm

I would be very surprised if it wasn't 30FPS because that game is one of the most fluent ones I've ever played on a console. |
MK is definately locked at 60 FPS. There's a technical article somewhere on the web from the developers where they explain in great detail all the stuff they did to make the Unreal Engine run at 60 FPS on consoles.

You are entirely wrong, do some research. 24fps is not fluid, even at the movies. 24fps is used specifically to make movies not look real, if they had a 60fps frame rate they would look like "live action footage". If you have a TV that can do 100hsimilar tech, that interpolates frames then you can see what this looks like. It makes Hollywood action typee films look hilarious and fake because they look too smooth and real.
Not only this, but films are obviously choreographed to exploit the 24fps limitation in terms of smooth panning and image retention from previous framesextra porocessing etc etc etc....the camera in a video game is controlled by the user.

Hold your head in shame Barozi, any idiot can see MK runs at 60fps. It amazes me, the ignorance people who play games pretty much every day have when it comes to frame rates and can't tell the difference between a turd and a cake.

I disagree with you - his question is good. The fundamental issue is how experience would change when our perception-rate is changed. You might belittle the question with a link that illustrates the difference between definitions that relate to his question, but ultimately those discussions have nothing to do with the issue he is probing.

You could attach a camera to yourself and walk around and let it take pictures at 5 fps and then view it as a slight show to see how it'd be like. |
That's what one would expect, but...
Even if we could 'see more frames per second' like pigeons, there's no way we could swerve out of the way of moving cars as late and comfortable as they do.
There seems to be a direct link to the experience of time. This cannot be changed for a human being (well, except through some Special Relativity).
^I think we might be discussing different things here...
Dark Soul's has to have around a 24FPS framerate. SoTC was originally lower, and had really bad problems with framerate, and still most people that played it loved it.
Ideal no, Certainly fine and playable to most people.
Should they strive for a better framerate? I think so.

Pigeon reaction times are just faster than for us humans. I don't think it has anything to do with their experience of time. |
Define reaction time.
Now wouldn't that definition imply a correlation between itself and experience of time ?
Have you seen how fast pigeons look around and peck ? What to speak of those small fruit birds that fly from branch to branch quicker than a human eye can even distinguish.
Well, as a developer I would say that trying to achieve anything higher than 60FPS is superfluous as the VAST majority of monitors/TVs top out at 60 hz anyway, which means additional frames are just wasted (besides you want to lock in with the screen refresh for image quality reasons)
As for 24FPS, it is completely fine for games that don't require split seconds reflexes (like fighting or driving games do)
