Points are ridicilous. I hate them. One reason why I prefer to download off of PSN instead of Xbo Live.

Makes sense. No other fully mutli-media/application market does this.

unit conversions suck - i wholeheartedly approve of this change.

I didn't know that my Microsoft Points could work on Windows Phones... this is a selling point on the phone front. Even if they phase out points, knowing that if I have "overspill" money on one device means that I can buy things on another is awesome.

Like, I currently have an overspill of like 400 points on my Xbox, and there's nothing that I want at that price... I'm sure there'd be a few games and apps and shit for WP7 which I could spend those on.

man you are all crazy i don't get it...you really are happy to pay much more in the future just because you don't have to calculate "i bought 4200points for 39 dollars and this game costs 800 so..."  which is a calculation you need 5 seconds for?

you have to pay 295kr in sweden for 4200 points on ebay which is 33 euro (like in germany) and without points you have to pay what? i think it's maybe the same like here we have to pay 50€ officially so like 450kr in sweden?

in the future you have to pay 450kr to get 450kr on your account and can't buy points for 295kr to get points worth 450kr yeah this is sooo great.

Well I didn't know you could get a rebate on points by buying it from another country but in principle I still hate points. It's cumbersome to calculate how much one point is in my currency.

the points system was always unfavourable, actual cash price is better but will still work the same way. ie £3.99 game on psn you cant make a debit card payment for £3.99 you have to purchase in blocks of £5

if microsofts new system allows actual as-is price transaction that would be the best way imo

it sucks purchasing something and having loose change left over for which you can buy a theme or avater or keep for next time you buy

yes because this cost you 30 seconds of your time this has to be soo bad. you have to calculate it one tinme and then you have the number in your head and you have to pay much less for whatever you buy.

this forum is funny no one wants to pay 50 dollar more for a console to get a better one but everyone wants to pay 50% more for the market place product than he has to.

I think I have spent around $10 on Xbox Live and around $30 on PSN so far (plus $15 on a 3 month trial Playstation Plus).

no clue but definitely more :) i would say 150 buck with 4k points still inmy account.

ok if you have only spent $10 than it's not so important for you that you could have saved a few bucks but then i don't even know why you care about the system because this has to be a one time purchase for you and if you did that for points or with your kredit card for real money or whatever shouldn't be so important but  it's interesting for people who spend much more and i would understand to prefer the rumored new system but then these people should care about the costs and if someone has to spent $100 over some years with real money or only 60-70 if he buys points on ebay i really can't see how these persons prefer the new system and it seems like everyone here is happy about that and i believe ther are one or two who spent more than 100 bucks on xbox-live

just imagine how easy it is, you buy the poinst on ebay and you get an e-mail after a few minutes with the code. you open the e-mail and xbox.com, type the code on xbox.com and done. this takes maybe one minute to surf on ebay to purchase it and few minutes for the rest (excluded the few minutes you have to wait for the mail)

but it's the same with xbox-live some of my friends always purchase it over the xbox or in bad shops for 60€ and i pay half of that. and that over 8 years or so it's crazy
