Forums - Sales - 360 Set to Overtake Wii Software Total in US

Out of NPD Dec came at least 1 bit of interesting info, attach rates.

They put X360 and 9.1, the PS3 at 8.3 and the Wii at 7.7.

X360 - 32.65m x 9.1 = 297,115
Wii - 38.75m x 7.7 = 298,375
PS3 - 19.98 x 8.3 = 165,834

Obviously NPD doesn't count bundled software, hence why we have Wii ahead 37m.

Interesting to note is we have the same amount of PS3 bundled SW as we do 360.

I find it very suprising the ps3's tie ratio is closer to the wii's than the 360s.

That can be explained by the one year headstart of the 360. Tie ratios go up over time. If you made a launch alligned comparison for tie ratios, the 360 wouldn't be as far ahead, if at all.

Was 8.9 this time last year

it will overtake it very soon, Mass Effect coming, Witcher 2, Halo 4 and all those games along with New Cod.

Xbox 360 may pass 500M SW in US before this Gen ends. Probably with Bundles is already closer.

Doesn't suprise me to be honest, X360 has been rocking HW & SW in the US for a fair amount of time now, I expect it to be ahead of the Wii SW at the end of this year at the latest.

Would be interesting to see the full bundled figures as well, but unfortunately NPD does not provide.
