Forums - Nintendo - The Wii isn't perfect, and I'm not either

Yeah, I don't understand why you are using a comma in your title. I suppose it's meant to highlight that you aren't perfect.

So based on the explanation in a later post, this topic is kind of a response to the "Is the Wii a success?" thread where we once again got to read some reality distorted views.

Yes, it was to highlight that I am not perfect.

It's not really a response to the "Is the Wii a success?" thread or insipred by it.  It was honestly just thoughts that were flashing through my mind after my near perfect game.  I suppose that it will get some similar responses though.

I haven't played Wii bowling in ages. I wonder if it will still have that same appeal. Have you guys ever thought about trying Kinect Sports? I don't have either game but the demo for bowling was pretty awesome.

I don't understand.

I was hanging out at a friends the other day blazing some marijuana. Anyways, one of the people in the circle stated that the Wii was the biggest piece of shit / worst system ever. I then jumped in but instead of debating with that loser I started talking to my friend's brother that was there. I explained how it expanded the market, has sold far more systems than PS3 and 360, far more reliable system, etc.... Basically, I didn't even bother debating with a person that has such a close minded view on Nintendo.

Thought about trying a game from Microsoft?  Don't make me laugh.

I still thought that Wii Bowling was a blast!  I would definitely be up for trying the Kinect Sports, but I don't own a 360 and a Kinect and I don't have any friends with the Kinect either.

Wii Sports Resort Bowling is a lot tougher since it seems to be a lot more varied when you throw it. The sweet spot is harder to obtain in the Resort due to the motion plus picking how you hold the remote more.

I have yet to even get 300 on the original although I had a friend get 300 using Michael Jackson Mii character.   I believe my high is around 280 or so for the original.

So does anything special happen when you get a score of 300?  Does a disco ball saying PERFECT GAME! and confetti come out?  Does Miyamoto show up to your house with a bottle of champagne?

You guys got high and discussed video game politics?   And one guy was hateful towards the Wii?  Man, I haven't smoked marijuana since 1997 (if you don't count 2008) and all I wanted to talk about was how high I was and giggle about shit.  Marijuana sure has changed since my day.

Exactly. He might as well have suggested to play a third party game on the Wii.

Well, what else do you expect? Whenever a third party developer wanted to make a AAA hardcore game for the Wii, Nintendo said: "No, you won't. We want you to make cheap casual games, because that's everything the Wii is about."

However, some third parties did their best to sneak core games past Nintendo's reign of terror, so we could experience gems like Deadly Creatures and Dead Space Extraction. The Wii could have been all that, but Nintendo wanted it to be a console that is exclusively about gimmicky motion controlled games and makes all traditional gaming gone. That's why they added the Virtual Console.

It's the Wii owners who are to blame.  They aren't interested in real games.  If they were, they would have bought up millions of copies of that masterpiece Madworld.  I know what you're saying.  You're asking yourself if that's the game that can be completed by a skilled gamer a little over three hours?  My answer to that would be yes, but quality is much more important than quantity.
