Well, they do, they flip flop between the two phrases.

Most 360 consoles ever sold in a quarter (check)
Half a billion in profit (check)
SDF trying to make it look like anything but an amazing success (check)
These threads really aren't enjoyable anymore. Congrats to Microsoft and Xbox.

He's Legend11... Click here, to solve the problem.
Or alternatively, ignore him and don't bite the bait.

In the end there wasn't really anything funny going on...
I guess VGC was more or less the same as other years with over tracking only occurring during the end of the year sales period. A time period where sales can be very volatile.
A bit dissapointed in MS for making a misleading announcement like that at CES, im not sure what the point of that was...claiming to be number one for 2011 when they not really sure, given a number that didn't truly reflect sales of the year. They should just stated the facts, which are impressive as is.
Anyways...i guess all the discussion and arguments regarding 360 sales/shipments for this quarter can be put to rest now.
On a more positive note, well done to MS and 360 for an amazing year :) being up significantly in its 6th year along with posting great profits for the division which im sure 360 played a big part in. 360 now has its sights firmly on being the number one console in the US of all time or at least coming very close to it.
Sony will come out with much more gloomy financials, but in terms of sales and growth they should be doing well to. The funny thing is despite how well the HD consoles are doing the industry remains in a cloud of uncertainty and doubt.

I'm glad I made my thread, and I'm glad it's generated so much heated discussion this holiday (360 shipments ect).
We need all the entertainment we can get this late in gen, besides games of course
Ok so this adds further proof that PS3 is in fact the best selling console of 2011 right?
65.8 million shipped by the end of 2011,
I knew their CES "announement" was wrong. That on top of the fact that they never announced Xbox 360 was the best selling console worldwide. Journalists twisted their words.

I doubt its going to go so easily. THe only thing we know for sure is :
1. MS did not ship or sell over 66 million like they claimed
We have no idea how many PS3 Sony shipped, just that they sold 3.9 million in the holidays.
I'm guessing 6.5 to 6.9 million shipped

I think most all agree on it now actually, unless Sony post some weird Q4 numbers which is unlikely. As long as they ship 7m~ then it's confirmed Sony sold the most.

That's the fun thing. We just never know.
