So I'm normally not a fan of English Subbed Anime, but I saw an English subbed "Abridged on Titan" episode and it looked really cool (covers the first 6 episodes). So I watched the show myself, and damn. I loved it.
Anyone know where I can watch the Bonus Episodes?
--- Attack on Titan Spoilers below ----
BTW am I alone in thinking that the first 12 episodes were the best, and beyond that it started getting dull? I loved how that Titan attack put the whole town in perl, how Eren joined the military, and Mikasa's obsession towards him. Even when he got eaten and transformed, that was awesome, and it kinda made it feel like mankind finally has hope against the Titans. However when they introduced the second Titan, it kinda made the original Titan threat seem unimportant. I mean I'm happy they capture Annie at the end, but wasn't Eren so desparate for answers? Why did he let her protect herself? I'm a bit disappointed that they took the series that route and didn't explain why.
Plus this makes me wonder where the plot is going. I'm not so much interested in a war between Titans, especially if the plot focus's on Human Titans. I'm interested in knowing why Annie wants the city to crumble? She's human after all, is she maybe out for vengence? Even so how did she learn all those advanced Titan techniques?
They could make this show really interesting if Titans turned out to be the creation of ancient human life, but I really wish they explained more at the end. How can the Collosal Titan vanish like that? Why not kill all humans and attack the other 2 walls (The Colossal Titan didn't appear for 5 years!)?
----Claymore spoilers below----
This anime kinda reminds me of Claymore, which remained unfinished. In the manga they explained that the island where the whole show takes place is like a testing facility for Claymores, and only covers half the manga.
Apparently on the main land continent Humans are in a large scale battle with Dragons, and Awakened beings are entities created by humans in order to fight the Dragons. The problem was awakened beings tended to kill both Humans and Dragons alike, and thus that Island was used in order to further research Awakened beings and Claymores. Clair was the first of her kind, someone who can control her awakened state. In the manga, Clair eventually avenges Teresa, and kills Pricillia (which she never did in the show) and the Manga goes on to talk about the origin of the Claymores, and I believe has Clair eventually go to the main contenent and fulfill her role in killing Dragons.
----spoilers for both below----
So since Claymore finished the anime on a half finished note, without explaining the origin of the Claymores (which is done in the manga), and without really coming to a conclusion (there's still rampant Yoma), I feel Attack on Titan did the same. Thus I'm a bit disappointed, I at least wanted to know the grander scheme of the plot.

Essentially I'm disappointed in Attack on Titan because the end failed to reveal information on the overall story arch. Claymore did the same thing by never mentioning anything about the origins of the Claymore, and the "true war." DBZ never does this, every story arch ends with hints of the next one, or it ends with some sort of conclusion. Goku killing Freeza (ish) for instance was a conclusion. I wish Attack on Titan gave us that, I'm hoping the OVA releasing in 3 weeks does.

Sorry for the long read, I guess I have mixed feelings about this show. I do love it, how gory and mature it is, but I wish things were better explained.
Anyone have any other recomendations for some dark fantasy anime? Claymore, Attack on Titan, and Elfin Lied were amazing, I want more!

Edit: I found this http://shingekinokyojin.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Chapters
It talks about the manga, which is about 10 episodes furthur into the series then the anime. Now I know who/what the Armored/Collosal Titan are, but I still don't know why they tore down the walls. I don't really like where the anime went, from what I read everything later focus's on the the human-Titans, and the threat of the real Titans is kinda ignored now. I hope after the Human-Titan saga, humanity rebuilds all the torn walls and they make the plot focus on outside all the walls, and the true origin of the Titans.
