just wait till nintendo give us some european data. then you'll all see, the 360 trailing behind wii and ps3 there. it always does. microsoft stuffed the shit out of the channels and probably knowingly so. they kept talking about beating sony all year. the only way they coull possibly do it was by overloading shipments.

Let us focus on "who will win 2011". Yes, 2011!!! If MS overshipped 360 in 2011 Q4 (still no one can prove it), it will only affect 360 2012 shipment figures. So if we have a tread talking about who will win 2012, you can point this out.

But one fact is if PS3 was not shipped over 15M in 2011, it means 360 won last year and no one can question about it.

Given there needs to be even more lowering of the 360 in the US numbers (the PS3 was lowered to be ~138K above NPD, while 360 is still ~436K above it), there's going be even farther adjustments to the 360.  My original prediciton of a gap of 800K-1M might actually come true.

Could have sworn it was just the last 5 weeks.  Well, I'll run the same numbers but just go one more week back.  Just keep in mind last year EU made up 77% of sales outside US and Japan.   Ok, we got 3.9 million.  Once we take away US (~1.58 million) and Japan (~324K), that leaves us with ~2 million.  77% of 2 million is 1.54 million.  Which means VGC should be pretty spot on.  The above link shows they are for at least France.

Couple of things I want to say to the defensive people (regardless of what console you like more).

- I don´t think Microsoft/retailers overshipped/overbought 360s because they wanted, but because they estimated huge sales in USA after the 360 having a monster BF week. There is NO WAY MS estimated, after selling almost 1M in BF, to only sell 1.7M in 5 weeks of December, retailers also saw the numbers and went nuts for the machine.

- NO ONE is trying do diminish what the 360 did when it comes to sales in 2011, they did a great job selling Kinect to the casual gamer, and the 3rd party games kept the machine relevant for the hardcore.

- Who wins 2011? The machine that sold more TO THE CONSUMER, no one cares who shipped more consoles besides Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo because they get the money from retailers, we want to know how many consoles are sold because we want to know how many active consoles/users are playing in what machine.

- And finally, no one cares for the shipment numbers MS will give us next week (I think), they already told us, over 66M (oh noooooo IGN told us MS said that it was sold to consumer), what we are waiting for is those Nintendo sexy region graphics, those will break down which console sold more in different regions.

Then EU may be overtracked slightly for PS3, but if that's the case (and so far we on spot for France), then don't expect 360 to be incredibly undertracked (in France it's already overtracked).
