I know what you mean!

The PS3 is yet to release any of its 'big hitters' and the 360 seems to have released quite a few (halo 3 being the main one) yet the PS3 still sells the same, or outsells it...

That must be painful to see :P

it seems you drunk a lot of fanboy juice lately..

pity.. you were not so biased before..

Well i have been drinking Coke Zero... Maybe someone tainted it *nooooooo*

I'm not being biased, just making a realisation as i never thought about it that way before... Hmmm *stops drinking Coke Zero for the time being* lol

 ugh Coke zero..thats like cola light without looking like a total girl

@mummelmann

although you may not be excited for Home

trust me, to expand the PS3 market, SONY has taken a good step imo

 I hope so. I'm getting my PS3, a Bravia 40" and the biggest DVZ surround set I can carry this summer!

One thing that will be interesting is February for the 360 and Lost Odyssey... I'm curious to see what kind of marketing push MS is going to put behind this game, both in NA and Europe.

If MS ever wants to crack the France/Germany/Italy/Spain markets, they have to try to do it on the backs of more games like this one because shooters just don't sell well in those countries.

@Coke Zero: It is rather bland, like a watered down Coke Light (which is basically water). And the add's are so lame, I feel like ending my life every time one's on...
Pepsi Max FTW!!

Lol! I hate the taste of Diet Coke so this will have to do for now :D

Might tread into the ground of Pepsi Max sometime though as i'm getting a bit sick of Zero...

 True. It'll do quite well in EU and NA I think, but the Japanese want their RPG's on Japanese machines. All is as it has been in that regard. Eternal Sonata already has a sequel planned, right? So they must be expecting decent numbers, at the least.

@rocketpig

after seeing the hardly ANY rise in sales after LO came out in Japan I am really in 2 minds about how it will do in EU n JAP

especially after Blue Dragon's average performance

No, but folks in Europe do.

The holidays are a beast - boosted numbers and the like - but while the numbers stay up? Of course not! And why did the PS3 see huge numbers during the holidays? Folks buying PS3s as gifts. When the holiday rush wears off, please give reasons why someone would buy a PS3 over a 360. Sure, gaming lineups, but is that enough to keep this going? Look at the numbers - how big the PS3 leads were. They are shrinking. For a machine that's supposed to be dominating, it's gonna be a long year for the PS3.

The 360, problems and all, still has the largest and best lineup for any next-gen console.

 The 360 has the best lineup of any next-gen console? By whose standards? Core gamers and hardcore gamers? Sorry, but they make up all of about 20% of the market.

If the European sales were due to only the holiday season, then it should have been the 360 way ahead considering that it's cheaper and has the best lineup.

Consoles owned: Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PSP, DS, PS3

It's hard to tell... A lot depends on how heavily MS pushes LO in Europe because it's definitely a game that caters to Western tastes much more than Blue Dragon.

It could just as easily flop as succeed, but it should be interesting to keep an eye on over the next two months.
