OT:  No idea who could be right.  Between the two, it is likely that MS is farther along in their next gen plans, so I fear if Sony showed anything it would all be speculative target renders (again).  It'd be funny if MS stirred up the rumors so strongly that Sony reacted and threw something together hastily like the initial showing of what became Move, but then didn't mention anything about the next gen Xbox.  That would slow PS3 sales some and MS would continue to push Kinect and Halo 4.

Sorry, that was me still being a tad bitter about Sony from E3 2005 to most of 2006.  Seriously, they were unbearable back then ...

Even if no unveiling of ps4/x720 it shall be an interesting e3 nonetheless.

IMO PlayStation 4 and Nextbox will be announced in early 2013 and launched in the same year. I don't think that Sony will make the same mistakes again and give the competition a headstart (360 being released a full year before the PS3 and the Vita launching 10 to 12 months after the 3DS).

Oh no I better start saving for early 2013 release date.

It would be stupid for Sony and Microsoft to have new consoles at this years E3.

Next year, yes it would be smart. But to announce the systems this year would pull attention away from BioShock Infinite, StarHawk and games like The Last of Us, Halo 4. OH! Also Grand Theft Auto 5.

Then you have the potential announcements of God of War IV. Then the releases of Call of Duty 5000 and Battlefield: We're Building To 5000.

While I was already pretty confident we would see the PS4 and "XBox 720" in some form at E3 this (pretty much) guarantees it ... Pachter's record with predicting the actions of the console manufacturers has been terrible, and are almost always wrong.

I don't see why ms wouldn't show the next box at e3 if it us going to be a mid-late 2013 release... I still remember the next box 2012 rumours...
