Forums - Sales - Infinity Blade Licence generate 28 millions $ on AppleStore and how it compare to consoles

23 millions $ for the first game and 5 millions $ currently for the second one.

It was sold around 5$ and this game was the highest scale and most ambitious game on Ios devices so I thought it was interesting to see this numbers.

While it probably made profit, it also shows that the smartphone market is still far behind the handeld for flagships titles. Editors who want to do an AAA title and generate a lot of profits on handleds are not going to put these games on smartphone anytime soon.

A 500 000 sold game on 3DS, DS, PSP,Vita  generate as much revenue as one of the biggest success of the AppleStore.

Why don't they just make an XBLA Kinect port ?
C'mon it's Epic Games (Chair) and their last game (Shadow Complex) sold over half a million as well.

Don't forget Apple takes a 1/3 bite out of that pie.

Bare in mind it's only been out for a year. It's not front loaded like cartridge games. It was 3 months before it made 5 million. It could be up to something like 45 million after another year. A cartridge game would have to sell over a million and a half copies at full price to keep up with that revenue.

I didnt like this game at all. All you do is slash enemies like Fruit Ninja, you cant move or do other shit.

Yes, for what I hear the game is quite limited, but that was not the question.

It is the biggest "full game" made on IOS, and still, its revenue are easily surpassed by any best seller on consoles.

In profit as well.

You won't see any AAA titles on applestore because that's where the editors want to make money.

EA does not developp on DS and PSP anymore.

But their whole number on phone are dwarfed by one successfull game one 3DS. Look at Nintendo. Just Mario kart will bring 5 times the number of the whole EA division.

And you wonder why investors insist on Nintendo to jump in the iOS market when Ninty can make BILLIONS out of a single game in their handhelds.

pwin´ every other villain since 1994

I give up. Live with it... mobile devices revenue is growing rapidly. Time will prove me right, I don't have to keep responding to your ever changing arguments, I haven't got the time or inclination.

You are just unable to answer.

You make much more money relasing games on console. Period.
