Resident Evil Revelations is in Top 20 on Amazon Japan already.

3DS is going to kill it for a few more weeks at least.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

So after 3 weeks

3DS: 683,382 (3rd week - 100,739) launched Feb
Vita: 472,587 (3rd week - 42,648) launched Dec

The 3rd week comparison is the most shocking

Vita has much stronger competition, Sony is late (again).

Vita never had shortages. It makes me laugh every time when Sony fans use this excuse.

What about Microsoft fans? I guess that'd make me level headed in the argument which is more that can be said for you.

Last thing i would call MS fans is level-headed.

But seriously, I hope 3DS keeps it up longer than Vita, because if neither console keeps the jap. market up we all lose.

Talk about generalising, you're another one not to talk mr 'I think the hardcore will migrate to WiiU'

I'm sure you do hope 3DS stays ahead of Vita PSP and DS should have taught you Japan is all still to play for. Vita will start fighting back a lot sooner than the PSP did, just give a MH and a price cut and watch it fly.

3DS already won. The gap is just enormous and growing each week.

You spamming the VGchartz forum won't change it. But it's fun anyway.

Spamming? Nothing I've said is spamming, go learn what that actually means.

I'm sure a lot of people said the same about the Wii and 360 in the U.S

You are spamming by posting everyday in all threads possibles.

But it won't change the fact that the 3DS is going to finish leader, like the DS and the Wii.

I'm totally confused by that statement. What did the PSP and DS teach us other than that once again Nintendo were kings in the handheld arena? The DS is the best selling console Japan has ever seen, with the PSP just under 15million units behind it.

Again, no, that's called posting a lot, none of it is spam (go learn what the word means)

That's a fact already is it? Like I said, as long as Vita picks up pace within the next year that's by no means a fact. Wii dominated the 360 for years in the U.S and look how that is going to turn out. Predicting how the next 6 years are going to pan out with less than a year of 3DS and 3 weeks of vita, is foolish.

Towards the end the PSP competed far more competently with DS than it did when DS first launched (which is why it has such a huge lead over PSP)

Which is why I said it'll start fighting back a lot sooner, meaning the LTD gap won't be nearly as big as DS and PSP, and the possibility that after 5 years or so they're very close, with Vita even ahead.

If I had to bet I'd say 3DS wins, of course. Just don't count the Vita out already when you've seen how fast the weather can change .

That's more your hope than anything else.

If anything , the PSP was in stronger position, it was only 1 millions behind the DS one month after its launch. The Vita is already nearly 4 millions behind.

The PSP also had a huge franchise, Monster Hunter, which is now firstly on 3DS. The Vita won't be able to put a resistance against the 3DS.

I think biggest Vita problem is PSP with much lower price and tons of games. I don't see any immediate help for PSV but rather long term PS3 like strategy when they kept releasing great exclusive games reducing price of console as fast as possible.
