What I understood from the OP is that he wanted to get rid of his wife for a while so that he could play Dark Souls. The worst thing for him would be to get a game with splitscreen because she'd want him to play with her all the time. Zing!

I didnt mean it was bad, its the only Wipeout game I havent played in the series lol

I was expecting it to be good also the reviews are mostly positive o.o.

To make my point a bit clearer: I said "definitely not Wipeout HD" as the OP specifically asked for "some great, easy to play racing games".

Wipeout HD may be a good game, but when it comes to "easy to play racing games" on PS3, it's the last one I'd recommend.

I love playing games with my lady. We just recently went through Streets of Rage 1 and 2 together. I just don't really like racing games, and she hates games with lots of talking and story. She's also good at them (kicks my ass at Mario Kart Wii).

Even though you dont like racing games, it will be better to have a multiplayer game.

MNR is good, and all the moding is fun. If you don't like playing, you may find it fun to create tracks.

Get Need For Speed Hot Pursuit bro. My girlfriend loves that game and she hates most PS3 games. It's the most arcade type racer out and is easy to pick up and play. You'll dig it too! It's the only game she plays on PS3. She is a huge Nintendo fangirl.
