Both those games had DRM out the ears, what gave you the idea that DRM had would have reduced piracy anyway?

The Witcher 2 numbers were a wild guess by the one of the devs in an interview

I'm shocked to see that over a million people actually wanted to play Mario Sports Mix. I played that game for a few minutes at Best Buy and it makes Super Mario Sluggers look like a masterpiece.

By the way, those numbers must be heavily undertracked because they got them from different torrent sites only. Many people upload games to file hosting sites like Megaupload, Rapidshare, Mediafire, Hotfile, etc, in .rar format split in many parts and people download the games from there. Things must be much worse than what these numbers show.

I really doubt that contributes to a significant number. Why do that while torrents are available?

I don't know but it seems it's the most popular way to pirate things in my country. I always hear people saying how they have X parts left to complete the download but it started to go slower... or how they only had a few parts left to complete it but they were deleted from site Y and have to wait for the uploader to upload them again.

Also, there's the people who download the games, make a lot of copies and sell the pirated discs of the games on the street... so that makes the numbers even higher, lol.

Not surprised by Crysis 2 considerring most people probably downloaded it to check if their system could run it. Surprised Battlefield 3 wasn't higher for the same reason.
