You don't need an online pass for digital copies, it's only 2nd hand hard copies. |
ItProPortal also revealed that gamers who purchase and download the game via PlayStation Network would have to pay an additional amount to play the game online.
that's confusing.. are they saying you buy the cheaper dl version but then you have to pay for the online pass?

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I missed that. I think that's just misinformation though, hopefully someone will clarify

This is nothing new. Check out battlefield bad company 2 on 360 or PS3. It says clearly in the description that the vip code (online pass) is not included with the digital copy. The digital copy itself still costs more than a new retail version of the game, while you need to pay 800 more ms points to buy the online pass for the digital copy to play the game online (take into account BFBC2 is an old game, new games will be even worse as digital copies claim much steeper prices than retail copies).
I don't know what to make of this. Its no longer a business of taking money from the used market, its ram-rodding consumers in every way possible.
Actually just found this update, digital copies of Hot shot golf game in question comes with the online pass activated, hopefully this is the case with all vita games if they do need to include online passes.

$49.99 for a handheld title is not cheap... O_o

It doesn't bother me because I buy all my games new.
However, that won't matter and I'll get f*cked anyways because the Vita doesn't allow multiple accounts like the PS3, so I can't buy a game, play it on my Argentinian account and download the voucher code thing from the US store with a US account (no PS Store in Argentina) X_X.
Damn it... what should I do? I don't want to use the Vita with my fake US account... but if I don't do it I won't have access to demos, videos, DLC, Online mode activation, etc.... they're leaving me no choice :S... I want to keep my real account with all my trophies :(
Online pass...thats wonderful.
Any word on jailbreaks? emulation? making it run MS DOS?
