They should advertise it as new era of handheld gaming showing how great PSV games look and concentrate on US oriented titles like Uncharted mostly.

They need to advertise the dual analog sticks and its FPS capability. As we know, Americans go gaga over FPS games and it's really the best handheld / portable device to finally break into that market.

The patch was mostly to prevent piracy in which homebrew developers were able to figure out how to emulate the PSP emulator within the vita's core system.

But... the patch didn't block that stuff.... the exploit in the psp emulator is still open.. so I heard... >_>

ot: Sony will likely completly misread the market and will target the same 21+ till 34 year people owning an iPhone or other high end Smartphone.. who won't be convinced buying one so they will turn the marketing to 13 till 20.. after a pricecut.. and Kevin Butler still has a job because of that.

Market it as an extremely more refined gaming experience. Market it to older gamers (kids want what older people have, too!) and really push community capabilities that the 3DS currently doesn't have. I wouldn't even market it as a gaming device (though I'd show some games being played on it). I'd market it as a multi-media device. Of course, they did all of this with the PSP......

The PSP was confusing.

Show games like Uncharted, Call of Duty, Fifa, Madden, Tales and Final Fantasy games for Vita.

In the stores have demos for Uncharted, Resistance and smaller game demos for like Escape Plan, Lumines.

Give out the Vita to Sony's top actors and musical artists and then have commercials where those celebrities are giving testimonials on the system (for selling purposes, make them be the positive sounding ones).

No, it wasn't. It was to fix some problems users were having with system freezes and stuff.
