I had all mine removed a couple of years ago and it was painless for the most part. It was a little sore, but the hardest thing was eating because it took a while to heal up enough to eat good.

Why were they removed?

Sadly for me my gums inflamed after the surgery so I was in more pain then I should of been luckily I was able to go back and they cut the gums to bring down the swelling.

Former something....

I wish my dentist used Anesthesia, Novocaine sucks like nothing you can imagine. I asked for them not to use it onceand endured the pain which was preferable.

Hmm, right now it only feels a tiny bit sore around the edges and my throat but nothing too bad. I'll be eating in a while, see how that goes. Could've been worse if I had the flu and a major sore throat...

Though this was 11 hours ago and you've likely learned your mistake by now, i'll leave the warning to not eat while you're still heavy on the painkillers, though i suppose it depends on what killers they put you on. I broke a 7-year no-vomit streak because i ate too soon after the surgery

Pain gets at its worst on the night of the second day and early the third day, or that was my experience (this being May of 2010, so i remember it all fairly clearly). I was on painkillers for only 4 days, but on antibiotics for weeks for infection risk

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The first two days sucked for me. A bunch of blood kept gushing out of my mouth, and the pain was horrible. After a few days, the pain was gone, and I was able to eat the stuff I normally ate.

As for the braces, it hurts for like the first day or so (for me at least). It was the worst feeling ever, and I couldn't eat properly. It sucks.

I've only had one removed so far. The pain wasn't too bad afterwards, but that might be an entirely different story for you since you had all four taken out. I will say this, DON'T be in a hurry to eat solid foods or drink juice/soda. My brother ended up getting as dry socket after he had one of his wisdom teeth removed and he said it was one of the most painful experiences of his life.

I looked like a chipmunk the first couple of days.

i got 3 of mine removed, but i only had local anesthesia. it was pretty much painless and quick. now, eating will be the hard part.
