Hmm that sucks for retailers, having to sell the game heavily discounted at one point. I hope this doesn't have negative reaction to future titles namely if the title is a great title (similar to how Monster Hunter Tri Wii caused undershipping for Monster Hunter Tri G (3DS).

I honestly should remember the name of the company, given they release sales randomly, they use to be always do it in the past.

I think Sony will try and weather the storm next year, and perhaps price cut (only $50) in the holiday season along with some sort of system seller)

If they're already losing on Vita, and the PS3 price cut put the PS3 back into the red, and overall they're making heavy losses, can they really price cut the Vita?

I really hope that Sony can capture a good exclusive franchise in japan, if not it is going to suffer. The 3DS already has Nintendo games; and now it has exclusively Monster Hunter 4, which I think is a major blow to Sony considering that the Franchise is massive in japan. And because of that Nintendo has captured DS users and most of the PSP users too.

Sony needs to push/improve/support their japanese studios (or studio, I dont know if Sony has more than 1); just like they do with their western studios (Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, etc) in order to develop a Massive japanesse Exclusive game for the VITA. I say that it has to be developed by "Japan Studio" because japanese people are xenophobic game-wise, so it doesnt matter how good a western game is, it will never reach a miliion copies sold.

See seece, you are sensible in business, but sometimes Sony isn't..... so you most likely know they won't weather the storm. Plus investors yelling at you never helps either. 

I would normally think the Vita will be ok with square developing games but FFXiii puts a damper on that.
Still its a powerhouse hardware wise.

Ok, shocking sales figures!

Im really suprised at the VITA numbers. Considering that while we say its the second week sales, technically its still really the first week, considering last week only contained 2 days. and it only manages this number. Im hoping their is some unforeseen circumstance that we havent heard yet. If it were any other week in the year i wouldnt be concerned, but this week, the holiday sales boost week, hmm. I personally want all consoles to sell well, it means better choice for us gamers, so to see this flop so much is hard to watch. Hopefully it will pick up, it looks like a serious peice of kit in my opinion.

3DS, what can be said. Nintendo may have fucked up the launch but they seem to have really fixed whatever problems they where having. and on a global scale. Im currently playing Mario 3D Land, i love it. Still not too keen on the 3D part, i love 3D, but you really have to hold the console soooooooo still when you have it switched on, or it goes all blurry and stuff. That is my only concern with the machine. But thrilled its skyrocketing in sales.

PSP, wow, fair play. At least its a nice consolation for sony.

I dont understand why people are suprised by final fantasy numbers. Just look at the version number it is. Any else know of a series that has released this many games and can still manage 500k in its first week? I know the numbers are terrible for final fantasy, but when it gets it worldwide release, it should easily turn a profit.
