LBP2 is a bit unfair comparision - LBP1 price dropped like a rock and I remember I paid 15 pounds for mine after Christmas few weeks after release, LBP2 kept price much much longer so they probably made more cash for it than for first one already.

As for the rest of those game - they didn't offer anything 3rd party titles weren't offering and only U3 kept Sony exclusive standards people are used to.

Let's break it down: (FYI: I Bought and finished all the games listed)

1.  InFAMOUS 2 is almost the exact same game as the original InFAMOUS.

2.  Socom 4 is one of the worst military strategy games of all time.  The horrible reviews were well deserved and most definitely killed the sales.  I wasted my time and money on that one.  Pure Garbage.  Ghost Recon Future Soldier will save the genre (I hope).

3.  Resistance 1 was just "OK". Resistance 2 was so bad, it was painfully hard to play. Why should anyone buy a 3rd mess?

4.  Killzone 3 was basically the same as Killzone 2.  Why should anyone buy it?

5.  LittleBigPlanet 2 was the same as the original. 

6.  Uncharted 1 was amazing, Uncharted 2 was OUTSTANDING!!! Uncharted 3 is great but very similar to Uncharted 2.  I'm sure U4 will drop off a bit.  How many times can you play the same style game???

In my opinion, Skyrim is the best game out right now.  I'm about 150 hours in and not even half way complete.  Amazing 10.0 game of the year for sure.  This will hold me over until Ghost Recon FS release.

Wow this post makes me laugh so hard.  All those points are your OPINIONS, not FACT.  

1. Infamous 2 is a much better game than 1, imo.  Why does the game being the same mean its bad.

2. no comment because i never played it.

3. Resistanc 1 was great imo. Got two and three for christmas and have not played them.  I actually have heard nothing but good things about three, so your saying it sucks because 2 sucked. Play it before judging it.

4. Again why is it being the same mean no one should buy it. IMO, 3 is by far the better one of the 2. 

5. No commet because i never played it.

6. Uncharted 2 is the same as 1, they just made everything better and added multi and other stuff. Again i like stuff thats the same.

If a company drastically strays from what everyone liked in one game, why would people want to buy it. Have you ever heard, If its not broke, don't fix it.

You are right in that skyrim is a great game, but bathesda cannot even make a game without have a boat load of bugs and glitches that can make the game unplayable. They had what 5 years to make skyrim, its unacceptable.

IMO Sony failed a bit this year, the reality is most of their series either plateued in sales or have dipped at a time when the increasing console userbase is seeing most other series (FIFA, COD, Battlefield etc) get much higher sales. At the start of the year I think I wrote a post where I was saying Sony really needed to make all these sequels really cement themselves as solid 2m+ games (Within short timespans).... but it just hasn't happend.

I'm not saying the games all bombed or anything, just that most publishers wouldn't be happy if they release a game that sells say, 2m, and then see the next one only really sell 2m. Maybe Sony are just content with that.

I think some of the exclusives are starting to suffer an identity crisis for sure. And Socom was just a total disaster for anyone wondering why it bombed, they just did absolutely everything wrong with the development of that game lol.

Joking aside, Sony needs to up their advertising. Kevin Butler felt like he had no presence at all this year in comparison to 2010 where GoW3, Heavy Rain and Gran Turismo 5 mopped up sales.

this really isn't true, ok, besides Uncharted 3, there is a blockbuster title, but LBP2 and Killzone 3 sold fairly well, Infamous's sales are a little disappointing, and Resistance, Ratchet and Clank and Motorstorm 3 all sold below expectations, but quality wise, they are great games
