Publisher Deep Silver announced today that their zombie opus Dead Island has officially sold three million copies. The publisher had previously stated that Dead Island had shipped two million copies during its release month.

However, until now we didn’t know how many had actually sold. Not only did that initial allotment sell, but the game has obviously continued to sell well over the ensuing months. Selling, at the absolute least, another million copies since that first statement.

Wow, it's doing really well for a new IP that got mediocre scores. I enjoyed it, plenty of improvements to be made though, looking forward to a successor.

~2.1 Million here, without DD sales obviously. Probably undertracked by about 500k or so.

Fun, co-op Zombie Shooters sell shit loads. Surprised it's taken Sony to come up with a "zombie" game themselves after Microsoft got hold of Left 4 Dead.

That's a fantastic number for a new IP from a less known developer. I am very happy.
