sony germany announced today that they sold "over 3 million" ps3 in germany and vgchartz says 3.2 million. i think this means tracking for germany seems to be right or maybe a little bit overtracked but not undertracked like some people might think.

i bought my ps3 because it has blu-ray and then, ps3 is less expensive than the 360 and i have to pay for xbox-live to play online did you forget that as well? 360 does cost a lot more than ps3 if you play online and yeah what i said, the ps3 is a blu-ray player as well.

i would be happy if both consoles would sell double the amount but you can't just say "ps3 costs more"

Yes that is a nice argument but lets be realistic. Me as a gamer i got a ps3 and it has this nice ADDITION of playing Bluray aswell.

But have u considered the fact that NOT all ppl out there wish to play games? So, the more affordable solution is to Buy a stand alone Bluray player than splash out to a ps3.

for me, if i would have bought only one console i would think: "xbox or ps3". and blu-ray isn't only an addition for me. i bought so many movies wow...sure i could have bought a blu-ray stand alone player but  then i would have paid more for 360+blu-ray than for the ps3 so if i would have bought only one console maybe i would have bought the ps3 and without blu-ray the 360 (if i wouldn't have had the 360 from release)

fact is i know  people who bought a ps3 and not a 360 because it has a blu-ray player to have something for their new plasma/lcd tv. i tried to say "buy 360" because i think it's better to play online with them but it didn't work because of the blu-ray drive.

it's very simple, nobody really knows how many bought a ps3 instead of 360 because of blu-ray or how many buy 360 and not a ps3 because they think this or that is better. it's all speculation from you and me. it would be only possible if they would be exactly the same consoles just with other games.

That looks pretty good for VGC.  Vendor numbers tend to be based on last official count whereas VGC is trying to be up to date within a week or so.  That means these numbers are probably recent but not right up to date like VGC and with over 3 million noted I'd say this implies VGC is bang on or only slightly over.

I'd say it clearly means its a bit over, but it doesnt matter as it just means it is under somewhere else in Europe.

"Over 3 million" means it's clearly overtracked? VGChartz has PS3 at 3.194m in Germany and considering the high sales each week and that we don't know how recent the milestone is I'd say there's no way to determine that PS3 is clearly overtracked there.

yeah i think so as well. i believe the tracking is almost perfect. numbers won't be from today even if they released them today and they say "over" so this could mean when they counted the sales it was 3.1 million or so. maybe 100k overtracked but not more and this would be only 3% overtracking.

I just noticed VGC number this week end 12/17, does that mean they have the PSVITA at 322k for first day sales? cuz that would be wrong....right?
