sony germany announced today that they sold "over 3 million" ps3 in germany and vgchartz says 3.2 million. i think this means tracking for germany seems to be right or maybe a little bit overtracked but not undertracked like some people might think.

That looks pretty good for VGC.  Vendor numbers tend to be based on last official count whereas VGC is trying to be up to date within a week or so.  That means these numbers are probably recent but not right up to date like VGC and with over 3 million noted I'd say this implies VGC is bang on or only slightly over.

I'd say it clearly means its a bit over, but it doesnt matter as it just means it is under somewhere else in Europe.

"Over 3 million" means it's clearly overtracked? VGChartz has PS3 at 3.194m in Germany and considering the high sales each week and that we don't know how recent the milestone is I'd say there's no way to determine that PS3 is clearly overtracked there.

yeah i think so as well. i believe the tracking is almost perfect. numbers won't be from today even if they released them today and they say "over" so this could mean when they counted the sales it was 3.1 million or so. maybe 100k overtracked but not more and this would be only 3% overtracking.
