You deduced this just now? Didn't get a hunch when he utterly eliminated exploration, turned the combat into a touch screen version of Whac-A-Mole, and said in an interview that the original Legend of Zelda had bugged controls and not enough difficulty? (Which is just funny, because in the interview in the OP he says the game's too difficult)

Never played the DS games, and yes, I have read the interviews, and they support that assumption even more.

Zelda in space, why not it worked for Mario! ii would rather have it on a jet force gemini type scale though.

Coincidentally in Majoras Mask you can uae your game shark to go to the evil moon.

yea, that could be awesome, but i'm more innterested in a Mario RPG with Zeld, Link, Kirby, Ness, Lucas, and Mario. turn based of course.
