Well for one you don't really have a choice if you enjoy playing MP games with friends on the 360 (Halo, COD, ect) but it's definitely worth it IMO because you get an amazing integrated experience. It looks great, works simply and efficiently, and the price is quite low (especially if you and 3 friends decide to get the Family pack which turns out to be $25 a year)

It is a very well integrated community and something that Microsoft is constantly investing in. Apps are tailored to the TV experience and generally nicer to use from a family room environment. And for $99.99 per year for myself and 3 sons it is a good deal even before I get discounted cards like the 2 I picked up for $40 each at Walmart this week.

You just described a big fat rip off, my friend.

Even AOL back when they were ripping people off in the 90's...even they allowed you to have several profiles per paid account.

I can't believe that people get ripped like this and then grin and smile, and pretend getting ripped off is a great deal.   Unbelievable.

If you use XBL it's not a rip off. Specifically if you want to play online games with your friends who also have a 360 or want to play Halo 3/Reach/Anniversary/Wars (which you can't play anywhere else)

I pay because I want to support microsoft!

Yay!!!

My PC can do everything Xbox Live can, for free. GRANTED, it's not super convenient like Xbox Live so that's where Xbox gets the edge.

I don't know about other countries, but here in the UK Xbox has a deal with one of the major TV providers Sky which allows the Xbox to act like a cable box. While the other members of my family use one box downstairs, I can just use my 360 in my room for TV rather than having to pay Sky for Multiroom service. The PS3 does not have this as far as I know.

But thats just one small reason. I am more of a multiplayer guy, so the robust xbox service and being able to communicate with everyone well are some of the main reasons why I pay for XBL.

Thanks smroadkill15 ! I never was able to answer the question when my PS3-fan friends were laughing at me why i pay for it when the PSN is free... Personaly (and my friends too) don't really care about the items you mentionned on your list and won't change their mind. The only thing I love and just discovered is could service that i now use between my 2 360s ! That's super cool.
Ah yes, i prefer the word "gamertag" which is super cool than this cold "PSN ID"... and i don't know, I've been playing on Xbox Live since Halo 2 and like the interface, the more grown up community (less kids than on PS3)... and Halo will always be on 360.
