Forums - Gaming - What makes it special? What makes Xbox Live worth it?

Please, this is not a trolling thread. If you've got nothing nice to say after reading the title, please turn your back NOW.

I am a proud Xbox Gamer myself, Im very proud of MS for releasing such a reliable service and I am proud of MS for releasing new features like cloud storage and beacons. I know that I will continue to pay for Xbox Live till the release of the Xbox 720 (or whatever).

But heres the real question....What makes it worth your money?? Why do you continue to pay for it?? What makes it special??

Im just a new Xbox gamer (August 2011) and I myself know the difference between PC online gaming, PSN online gaming and Xbox Live gaming.

Again no trolling...

Plenty of reasons behind why I pay for XBL.

1. Most of my friends have it.
2. Party Chat/cross game chat is huge
3. Best downloadable game selection of the big three.
4. Able to have more than one Gold account on an Xbox.
5. Voice messages
6. Netflix; able to use stuff like voice commands
7. Cloud service
8. Background downloads
9. Every arcade game has a trial demo
10. Beacons; tells you whos playing what when.

personally i think bang for your buck the PSN+ is a better deal then xbox gold, but since the xbox is a better console and has better games i pay for xbox gold instead of PSN+

Not like you have a choice if you have a 360 is it ... (in what OS you use I mean)

I think people here like to exaggerate, $60/£30 a year is nothing, especially when you can get it cheaper than that.

It is a very well integrated community and something that Microsoft is constantly investing in. Apps are tailored to the TV experience and generally nicer to use from a family room environment. And for $99.99 per year for myself and 3 sons it is a good deal even before I get discounted cards like the 2 I picked up for $40 each at Walmart this week.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

+ iHeartRadio ap :D

It's just worth it, and it's not actually expensive in my eyes.

I just would like to touch up how the dashboard and Xbox live are very well integrated into each other. The game marketplace and Zune marketplace feel like it's apart of the dashboard not a separate launch from it.
