The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's motion control scheme is here to stay, series boss Eiji Aonuma has said.

Despite initial misgivings about requiring players to use the Wii Remote's MotionPlus attachment, Aonuma now believes buttons are a thing of the past for the Zelda series.

"I honestly think we cannot go back to button controls now", Aonuma revealed in a new ONM interview (via Kotaku). "So I think that these controls will be used in future Zelda titles, too."

Nintendo demonstrated a Zelda "experience" for the Wii U during its unveiling at E3 this year.

The Wii U's tablet controller was used as a touch-screen inventory.

Will players be asked to use a Wii Remote Plus and tablet controller together? Or will the inevitable Wii U incarnation include better usage of the tablet, too?

Zelda games for handheld systems will presumably keep the series' classic button controls. After this year's re-release of Ocarina of Time, the next 3DS Zelda game will be all-new, Aonuma recently said.

Using both the tablet and the Wiimote & nunchuck for ZeldaU is how I would prefer it but I think a lot of people will have a problem with such a setup.

I don't know if I'm yay or nay yet as I haven't played SS yet

I hate uni SO much right now :(

I love the new full motion control, but lets just wait until after the Wii U is out.

When Nintendo finds out that they want to really promote the Wii U and makes Aonuma use the pad.

I hope that does not happen, but rumors come and go in days now that we all have Twitter instead of the rumor section of EGM./

Bit this is not a rumor, its from Aunoma himself or maybe you didn’t mean it that way :P

They don’t need Zelda to promote the U-pad. They have other games for that. The games that promote U-pad will be the first games that come out and not one that comes out 3 years after the WiiUs launch.

They will choose the better way to play a game just like how SSBM didn’t use motion

Wow you’ve had the game for so long yet not played it yet O_0

I’m impressed that you’ve been able to hold yourself until now!

You will love it as I know your more open minded about these things ;)

When will you be done so you can play it?

Since Wii remotes will still be used with Wii U it`s good to know that motion controls are to stay.
The idea of using both controllers seems to complicate a little bit the gameplay experience, but who knows... of course, we could always get two ways to play the game!

Nay for me, I think partially what killed the sales for the Zelda SS was the controls, unless Nintendo manages to make the next zelda game not require any add on than it might be a good idea.

But overall, I wouldnt recommend motion controls, they should go the same road as they did with Super Mario Galaxy, making the core gameplay like old mario games and only had the motion control for one simple task.

Well sales until now are the opposite of what you say. It has sold better even though the 3rd week is not added in all regions

If anything would kill it, it would be the fact that not everyone has M+ which is why I think Nintendo will add it too the WiiU package. but so far the sales are better than TP

lets wait a full 10 weeks and see before we say anything about sales

You won't be so happy when you hear that we'll have to use a Balance Board to get Link to walk in the Wii U Zelda game.

Oh I'm not going by the sales comparison of TP or any zelda game, just the expected sales total was below of what everyone predicted or so, also by going what I heard from friends/other forums of people who were waiting on buying it due to the fact of the motion+ and the release of Skyrim xD.

Ah I see

Well predictions were made after the pre-order list here on VGC which was at 900k+ in the US alone which clearly was way off

But in the end it doesn’t matter what people predict. You always compare a product to its predecessor :P

I'm sure I will love it though, everyone here seems to like it and I trust you guys!

I'll finish my last final Jan 7th = in about a month, but I'm not worried about that right now, I've got a graduation project and the second to last phase/part is due tomorrow XP
