and then he got all depressed and such? i really feel bad for him, i think this is the game that he was working on, but konami thought its better to ignore their best developer and hire someone outside, if i'm Kojima i'd have left Konami already, but i think the reason he is sticking around is because of MGS and his other games, you know you can't simply abandon stuff that you worked on for so many years (like Inafune did with Megaman) i've no idea why japanese publishers treat their developers that way recently. =/
Edit : Here
It's very rare to see Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima in low spirits, but the Japanese director has been taking the cancellation of a mystery project pretty damn badly. Apparently, he's spent a year on an unannounced title, a year that's now become "meaningless." "I can’t take it anymore; this is unbearable, I can’t stay positive," Tweeted the developer. "The thing that I spent one year delicately preparing became meaningless." We don't often see a developer candidly expressing his thoughts on a cancellation, but it goes without saying that it must be pretty horrible to go through after such a long time spent in development. I feel sorry for the poor guy. Kojima: “The thing” I’ve spent a year preparing is “meaningless” [VG247]

This collaboration between Kojima Productions and Platinum Games is for me like Kojima-san and suda-51 collaboration with sdatcher the game we see now is his vision for what he wonted for this new project. you have to understand that he is not just about MG/MGS and ZOE and ZOE2 but he has Snatcher and Policenauts as well.
He makes Games that he he wonts and not the games that the retared vocal fanboys of only MGS wont him to make.
