Played the demo yesterday.

It was shocking.
Seriously. I will now leave the series and never look back. I gave sqenix 1 more chance with this demo after I wasted £40 on ff13.
But this is worse. The music in the demo was shockingly bad for ff, and the voice acting the worst I've heard for years. Worse than ff13 had.

It has been awhile since I played ff13 but the battle system is to easy. But wait sqenix screw up the already crap battle system and our in qtes. Yes qtes. Wtf? They aren't even remotely good ones either. Did sqenix forget we play ff to watch really good cutscenes? But now I have to watch the qte bits instead of the action so as to playthrough.

Its crap. So crap that it hurts. Its so uninteresting id rather chew my hands of than watch ff die completely.
I never expected playing ff13 2 for it to play worse in every possible way than ff13.

Goodbye final fantasy.

Jrpgs on 360 that are better this gen are

Lost odyssey, tales of vesperia, the last remnant, blue dragon, eternal sonata, star ocean 4. They all have better battle systems and much better character progression. And for storytelling lost odyssey kills all of them.

I preferred the FFXIII ones, especially in Japan and Europe, the US also had a decent one.

It was a good commercial, but the voice clips they used were pretty poor and unfitting.

Its a shame. I started final fantasy on the nes. And even gave them a chance when Hironobu sackaguchi left. The creator and sole idea off final fantasy is his.

I surely am sad. I franchise I spent so much time on. A franchise I loved especially during the she's and ps1 era has me literally playing it yesterday and feeling so much like a budget title gameplay wise. The visuals are poor and it just hurts man.

Just one thing...The visuals are poor? Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time, but even I can admit it looked like shit, Final Fantasy XIII / 2 have recieved a lot of praise for their visuals.

EDIT: Just re-read your first post and there are SO many holes I forgot to poke in your argument. FFXIII's battle system is easy and crap? You are dissapointed in the FFXIII-2 demo because you wanted to watch cutscenes? What the fuck did FFXIII give you then?

Also, I forgot to mention, this is the FFXIII-2 official thread. There are no rules as for where you can and can't post but this thread was really created for people who are looking forward to the game and want to learn more about it. Keep the whining in the review threads or demo impression threads.

For some reason I still don't care about this game, there's only two main characters and one of them is bland and boring looking (Noel) I want to play as Lightening!! and I don't want to collect monsters to fight with.

This is not the sequel that I personally wanted XIII-2 to be.

Yes they're pitiful. The first is too linear? it lacks exploration. The second one is much more open? It hurts the story. Now WRPGs are on the rise they're always trying to find some excuses to blame JRPGs to justify their preference for Mass Effect and the likes, without considering those two genres are very different. 

I think the demo was a bad idea. FFXIII-2 is awesome in whole, you really have to play it from beginning to end before having an opinion. A demo isn't representative, and especially not the sequence that was in it.

This got to be the least anticipated Final Fantasy for me , the excitement just isn't there :/

I'm sure the criticism will be way too harsh again, it seems to be the story this time, which is funny , I can't remember when the criticism focused on story by that much, oh well ...

SE focused way too much on XIII criticism and forgot or ignored to create a clear vision and plan of what they want to do , it's good and wise to listen to the criticism sometimes but not the way they did.
