Forums - Microsoft - Kinect Effect "Advertisement"... Superb celebration!

It's quite an old ad and I seem to recall saying it reminded me of Apple Ipad ads but unlike those, the hype is more justified.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

It was a bit silly really, Kinect is a video game console peripheral and something that has been done before, not some amazing machine that has changed the world. It pisses me off how most of those things in the advert you cannot do or were just scripted too.

Why do Microsoft advertise and build up hype for Kinect by showing by showing things it can't do?

Actually everything in that video Kinect can do. Sure not when conected to a 360. It doesnt have enough processing power. But all this stuff has been done right now already using PC's.

The next Xbox will have much more procesing power enabling kinect for Xbox to b able to do these things. Make no mistake this stuff has already been done by developers in their own houses with M$ backing. M$ intend kinect to be much more than  a motion controller for games..

Thats what this ad is about.

Great add and great voice over by Forest Whitaker. Only way it could have been better if they could have gotten Morgan Freeman, Jeff Bridges or George Clooney.

That doesn't have to do much with brain surgery, but helpful anyway.

It does remind me a bit about the story about the atronaut pen, whether urban myth or not: "Nasa reportedly spend $1.5 million to develop a ballpoint that works in zero gravity while the Russians opted to use a pencil"

What's so difficult about gettin a sterile mouse??? Or you know, an assistent to pull things up instead of the surgeon waving around with his bloodied hands...

any surface they touch will become contaminated. An assistant would cost alot more money than a kinect sensor. It is being used just like in the kinect video, thats why i linked it to what he said about brain surgery.
