Forums - Gaming - Recommendation Thread 2011 - Recommend your favorite "under the radar" games

Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja were pretty decent for Kinect - and they are bundled together.

In terms of regular games, definitely Dark Souls.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

For those who like JRPGs with a good story and music, I'd recommend Nier (PS3/Xbox 360). I think it's my favourite game of the generation :P

I'd also recommend Shadows of the Damned, but someone else already recommended it :P

I don't know if stuff like Vanquish is considered "under the radar" too.. but if it is, I'd recommend it too.

A banner stolen from some site xD

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

Disgaea 4. Its just an excellent game that you can sink hundreds of hours into. Also Red Orchestra 2.

Most of those aren't under the radar -_-

As for me, I'm an anti-hipster, I play only maintstream :3

by declaring yourself anti-hipster you have become a hipster silly, because being a hipster has become mainstream the thing hipsters are sworn to hate.

anyway my under the radar recommendation

everyone with a DS should go out and buy ghost trick right now. Its like phoenix wright evolved into something so much better.

There are plenty of steam games I would recommend that I bought this year but frankly I'm not sure which year they came out and too lazy to check.

It was released in 2010 but I still want to recommend it, Castlevania. Also Dante's Inferno.

I have to say that Orcs Must Die is surprisingly awesome, the best tower defence I have played, it combines 3rd person shooting and trap laying much better than Sanctum did it's only missing co-op.
In the end it's just a lot of fun to kill Orcs.
Available on XBLA and Steam

Binding of Isaac is also great a "twin-stick shooter" with randomised dungeons with a wide variety of powerups and enemies. Combining arcade shooting with a roguelike dungeon was genius.
Available on Steam

Ohh good ones, I was about to buy Binding of Isaac, it caught my attention on steam and was kind of cheap (don't know now)

Didn't know Orcs Must Die was on Steam, always tought it was an XBLA exclusive don't know why. I watched a couple of videos and the game seems pure fun. Do you know if can be played online or co-op offline? that would be a blast.

@MR.Tar : Yeah Xenoblade Chronicles is one heck of a game it has almost everything I wanted on an RPG. Truly an amazing RPG and one of the best of all time

no multiplayer in orcs must die unless you count the competitive leaderboards

Atelier meruru, game of the year for me for sure

If you dont know japanese then atelier totori (it released in english this year)

Honourable mention goes to xenoblade chronicles

asnd as for non 2011 under the radar games, I totally second the Nier recommendation, one of the greatest games of any gen IMO
