I played StarTropics and it's sequel for the first time last year. I'd suggest it for any classic gamers out there also. I had expected something more Zelda-like, what with all of the Zelda comparisons, but even though I see the similarities, it's a very original experience that didn't give me too many Zelda moments. A very unique game and here's to hoping it gets a sequel. :)

There is a sequel already - StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge.  Another excellent game.  Fixes some of the control issues with the first game, although I like the setting of the first better.  Definitely give it a shot if you liked the first.

Star Tropics was a really great game !
i had this game and it was really worth playing.

but damn - it was very difficult in the end

Ha, I'm glad that I'm not the only person who found this game brutal at the end.

And I'm quite impressed by those of you who beat it.

I beat this game as a kid. It's been so long I barely remember it now, but i do remember it was loads of fun.

I know man, re-read my post where I said "StarTropics and it's sequel for the first time last year". I'm just hoping for another sequel.

I hope a lot of Wii owners try StarTropics out -- it was one of my fav NES games, and it's something pretty special. It's always pretty rare for a game to combine genres and succeed, and ST is godlike.

Too bad you don't get the letter to dip in water in PDF or something. I wonder if they changed the text in the middle of the game to tell you to find the code on the Internet instead of your uncle's letter? haha.

Any more impressions of the sequel? I'd already sold my NES when it came out, and I read it wasn't that good. What's it about, how does it play?

They included the letter in the manual you can access with the Home button.

Yeah, that was a pretty nifty way to handle that. :)
