So Europe category contains only European countries that have individual charts as well?
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Isn't Gunstringers a digital download only game? |
Nah it's retail copy and has the fruit ninja code inside attached in it and you can download the fruit ninja online.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I'm also not sure how much room there is for massive numbers across the board. Last year total sales for the 3 in the USA for the week were 1.45m I'm assuming 600k for Wii, 750k for 360... |
Kind of ironic that you brought that up. Like I said to Seece in the other thread, you've made predictions based on VTriggers data. His exact read on the situation, based on actual hard data:
"That being said, do not expect the Wii to beat the 360 this week, its not happening. Should be 360 in first by a comfortable margin then Wii with PS3 slighly behind it."
The first half of his projection seems to have held true. How do you suppose the latter will play out? Are you writing him off now like Seece did? I can only imagine the meldowns that would occur if PS3 were to pull a 600k week in Americas.

So why do some people want to keep the inaccurate figures? As saless tracing site, and becuase VGC needs to grow, I think this change is really nice to gain the high accuracy and more credit in the industry. |
Top30 can be fine (and more could even be unreliable) for the smallest markets, but it's too little for bigger states and regions and WW. Think also that you have to divide those 30 positions amongst 6 platforms, that the biggest multiplats can eat 3 or even more positions each, that great games with long legs are interesting to follow even when they are in the lowest part of the Top50, and that in weeks with a lot of new games, even important games can fall below the 30th place.

First of all I am struggling to see how this is in any way ironic...? Second, I didnt base this post on BenVTRigger's post. I based it on common sense. The 360 was always going to outsell the Wii in the US. I was just too cautious in my number prediction, who sawe a 60% increase YOY? I'm sure the PS34 has done very weel at vTriggers store... its a game store. The difference is that the 360 and the Wii have also done well at non-gaming stores.... where the more casual audience are shopping. In ben's thread I actally said something like "1m week incoming?" I doubt there would be meltdown by 360 fans here if the PS3 sold 600k in the US, it tends to be the fans of other consoles on this site that go into sales denial mode when certain numbers are posted... as evidenced nicely on a number of occasions. For the record... yes, I think the PS3 did less than the Wii, not that it matters as both have been roundly mullered by the 360. What do you think the PS3 will do? |
The irony is in the fact that you expected 360 to have its best BF ever, although it did exceed your expectations. And yet the notion of the same thing happening with PS3 seemed illogical to you. And the exact same thing happened with Wii as well, although it won't beat the full BF 2008 week because demend was constant through the week back then. My prediction is somewhere in the 500k-550k range.
