Forums - Nintendo - I bought a 3DS! What games would you recommend?

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars (it's a strategy game but it's a great game)

I would prefer Devil survivor overclocked. Much longer story mode with 6 different endings.

Shadow Wars has great promises but fall short on using all the "new" mechanics.

I recommed Samurai Warriors Chronicles, Dead or Alive Dimensions, and Pokemon Rumble Blast.

Are you trying to make the guy regret buying a 3DS  ?

i actually like the Samurai/Dynasty Warriors series, but i don't recommend the Handheld ones

Dead Or Alive Dimensions is just lame, its trying too much to be graphical , but it fell short in content and is just really lame.

Pokemon Rumble Blast is no way a good retail game, even though i bought it on WiiWare i felt cheated, its very repetitive , simple and not really interesting at all.

@PullusPardus I can't say I agree with you. I really love these games and still keeped them even months after I have bought them. Every gamer has a different experince depending what kind of person they are so I can't really get mad at you. (walks away with pride and slowly raising a middle finger)

Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. Also, I've heard great things about the Prof. Layton games (you could even try the DS ones if you haven't already)

Coming later next year are Paper Mario 3DS and Fire Emblem 3DS so remember those for later!!

DS Overclocked will probably never see a PAL release though, fucking region lock.

3DS better have an Advance Wars game in it's lifetime.

On topic: from the limited amount I've played of my copy of Tales of the Abyss 3D, it's an amazing RPG and I would highly recommend it.  At the moment, I prefer Symphonia (that was my first Tales game, I then imported Destiny on the PSX and now have got Abyss 3D), but it's very good nonetheless.  I doubt you can go wrong with the game for an entry into the series, and if you like it you have to get Symphonia (I haven't played the sequel, but I've heard it is very underrated too).

Mario Land - Mario Kart - save some money for Mario Paper - Luigi Mansion - Kid icarus and Animal Crossing.

Switch!!!

Super Mario is'nt that great, i would recommend that you try something else. I too don't know much about 3d games.

Well... I´ve just bought my 3DS. I can tell you that I´m really pleased with it. Nintendo got it right with this handheld

I would definetely recommend you to try (I bought all of them):

Super Mario 3D Land
Pokemon Black (or White) version
Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011

I personally think that these 4 games are well worth the money. Others that didn´t bought but I could try at the shop and for me they seem very good are :

Zelda Ocarina of Time
Professor Layton

When buying games I always think about how long the game can keep me interested. StarFox, for example, is a great game, but it´s kind of short. Resident Evil Mercenaries too.

I strongly recommend you to get online and try some downloadable games like Cave Story, Bit.Trip or Castlevania. There´s a lot of programs available that can be useful. I myself use a lot the DS Instrument Tuner (as I am also a musician who plays acoustic guitar and mandolin)
