In an interesting turn of events, Sony UK PR manager, Hugo Bustillos compared Skyrim to Lair and expressed disappointment that people didn’t see much value in Lair. In case you don’t know what Lair is, it was a PS3 exclusive released a few years ago and featured Dragons… and a lot of them.
“I don’t get all this love for Skyrim and dragons. Where were all you people when Lair needed you? I guess it was just ahead of its time…” he said.
He also said that the game was misunderstood, and people should have given it a lot more credit. I don’t know whether he is serious or not, but this is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard and Skyrim is the better game in so many ways, it’s just inarguable.
The Dragons of Skyrim bring a new dimension to the game, and it’s actually quite effective the way Bethesda has woven it into the main story.
In Lair, while the Dragon riding gameplay mechanic was fun, the controls were so broken that it basically killed the game.
The entire comparison with Skyrim seems a bit absurd because both are different games from different developers and genres. Besides, you can check out what makes Skyrim so good in our review here.
