After sorting my receipt emails by date for Steam... Seems I've Purchased 134 games this year for PC.
5 for the Xbox 360.

Reasoning is simple... I used to pay $80 - $120 per game... Steam has so many sales, it's not funny. When a sale is on, I might buy a half dozen games at once.
Plus the PC is my favorite platform, the consoles are graphically an eyesore.

The most Expensive game I have bought this year is Dragon Age 2 for $100 follow by Skyrim at $80.
Sad part is, the Steam Christmas sales aren't that far away, I'll probably buy another few dozen games then.

The money I've saved by buying on Steam would probably be massive compared to the consoles, in the realm of a few hundred dollars.
For instance, Oblivion is $27 from EB Games, On steam I bought it for $1.99 on a sale a few months ago.

I think I've only purchased 6-10 video games this year so far. This is a light year for me.

hhhmmmmmm.

50+ i reckon including XBLA.

Started off the year with games like Dead Space 2 & Marvel vs Capcom 3.

And ending the year with countless games like Halo CEA, MW3, Sonic Generations, Saints 3 & WWE 12

Bought a shedload of XBLA games including RE4 & RE: CV, Crysis, Daytona USA, Guardian Heroes, Crazy Taxi, Dishwasher: Vampire smile ect.

I guess TrueAchievemens would help me figure out how many games i bought this year, based on the fact that TA tells you the date you started a game.

Could be 60 or 70+ games come to think of it....... its been a terrific year for games.

1.Killzone 3
2.inFamous 2
3.LittlebigPlanet2
4.Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Warhammer 40k Space Marine

Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon

Wizardry Labyrithn of lost souls

Warhammer kill team

Resident Evil 4 HD

so 7 PSN

I am done with my purchase for 2012 too..

Yep. Aussie.
Prices aren't to bad when you stick to services like Steam though.

Plus some of the reasonings why games are so expensive is that our minimum wage is twice that of the USA, so games in general are more affordable for everyone, then you have import costs, taxes and bugger all competition with the importers and wholesalers to help drive up prices.
With that said though, we do get price gauging on Steam aswell, but it's not nearly as bad when you look at EB games or Kmart pricing.

My Amazon orders for 2011 have me at 27, although maybe 3-4 of those were free PC games. It was probably around 40 total, across all purchases online and the few I bought in stores.
