Steam has so many sales, it's not funny. When a sale is on, I might buy a half dozen games at once. Plus the PC is my favorite platform, the consoles are graphically an eyesore. The most Expensive game I have bought this year is Dragon Age 2 for $100 follow by Skyrim at $80. Sad part is, the Steam Christmas sales aren't that far away, I'll probably buy another few dozen games then. The money I've saved by buying on Steam would probably be massive compared to the consoles, in the realm of a few hundred dollars. For instance, Oblivion is $27 from EB Games, On steam I bought it for $1.99 on a sale a few months ago. |
Dang, 134!! I don't think anyone can top you.
I'm guessing you live in Australia? Man it must suck paying prices like that even for cheap.

Yep. Aussie.
Prices aren't to bad when you stick to services like Steam though.
Plus some of the reasonings why games are so expensive is that our minimum wage is twice that of the USA, so games in general are more affordable for everyone, then you have import costs, taxes and bugger all competition with the importers and wholesalers to help drive up prices.
With that said though, we do get price gauging on Steam aswell, but it's not nearly as bad when you look at EB games or Kmart pricing.
