Forums - Sales - A lot of big games in EMEAA overtracked? Including gasp Halo Reach and Gran Turismo 5

"how much did gt sell till the end of the year compared to the opening week in the tracked european countries?"

that was my question and i did some research lool.

ok gt 5 sold like 2.5x the amount of the release week till the end of 2010. it sold 92k in spain first week so like 230k till years end.

hungary counts for 1/8 of spains games sales which means hungary could have like 30k gt sales. hungary has 1/20 of population of the missing ~200 million europeans. i think the average european missing here earns more than an hungarian so sure this could be totally wrong but it could mean that gt sold 600k in the missing european countries...easy math^^

btw i see there is a huge fail in it but i don't know why hungary sales are so "high" but revenue super low there...

Using your logic... Finland sold 100k in 2010??? 600k for missing european seens a bit low.

nah that wasn't logic just a fun calculation. i have no clue how many bulgarians play console for example but i know romanians love to gamble and loose thousands of dollar playing online poker an there a many of them.

btw to the guy saying as i spoke about finland/norway they a re a pc nation not like usa i know that but console games still sell much better than pc games there. just look at their charts...

maybe i should do this calculation taking portugals sales as comparison. ok they earn more than the average missing european but i think there are more passionate gamers in eastern europe than in portugal.

Honestly, someone needs to shut up Ethomaz BADLY.

Why the random outbust of hostility? He's done nothing but provide numbers...

If you want to shut him up, counter his numbers with some of your own.

out of all games to be overtracked, you choose gt5, lol

@Carl:
I am not sure about GT5, it could be over, under, or spot on, I really don't know.
What I meant is his recent (well, constant, but it has been more noticiable this past month) urge to call anything undertracked.
He came to this thread only to say it is undertracked too.
He keeps insisting Uncharted, or PS3 are undertracked, funny thing, last month it was overtracked.
Watching the same crap over and over is getting tiresome, you know?

but you see link in zelda over some decades now as well? ;)

Pointless thread with useless data. Your only accounting Europe and forgetting what EMEAA is. You need to do some proper research before you make threads like this. There are so many countries in Europe and you only include a few. This is why VGC tends to under track games in EMEAA section. But I think it's doing just fine for GT5 and maybe a little off for Halo Reach but close to the 10% area so there is no point correcting. BF3 is the thing that seems to be over tracked right now and VGC is not doing anything about it

btw back to topic fact is finland sold 40k in the opening week if it's the same with norway this could be sales of ~200k for those 2 small counries alone till end of 2010. how many sales do we miss overall? 700k?

with greece maybe 50k (1/4 of spains population almost same income) and turkey could be 200k or so (80 million population with a not so poor istanbul population) we could only miss 250k then with the rest of europe and africa.

i really don't think this is so much.

oh  i forgot swiss! swiss 50-100k

and even if i put all these numbers together (500-550k) and i'm wrong i believe these countries sold 400k together. so 300k rest for africa and the other 25-30 european countries.

Well... about the other games.

Using the 17 countries numbers and the VGC numbers... none seems OVERTRACKED to me.
