^I second this! And it's what I've been fearing all along! But as far as I understand, the most likely scenario is that they'll go with 2GB, but reserve 512MB for the OS. Correct? I have no idea how this will hold up against Orbis/Durango though... seems like they'll have 4GB!!

perhaps they relying on that 8gb SD internal storage for buffering? They haven't exactly gone out and said you can install games on it. Also considering all games will be avaialble as digital downloads, 25gb games will not fit anyway. SO I am guess they expect these people to install on external storage.

It might be like you say, I have no idea: I'm no techie. Don't have a clue at all about anything anout this. I'm just reading what other peeps are saying, and my basic knowledge of math allows my to draw the conclusion that 4GB is more than 2GB, and therefore must equal more power...

well yes I wasn't trying to knock your post. Just a speculation what that 8gb of sd internal might be for. OS related stuff? game buffer help? dont know.

It sure makes no sense to be for game installs as most will be bigger than 8gbs.

Anyone else have any thoguhts on this?

Oh, I didn't take it as such either! Sorry if I came across as crossed :P I wasn't even aware that you could use the SD card for some processing... That would really be cool if it worked! But don't you think that card is reserved for savings and stuff?

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

If used for saving my guess would be for game saves, mii saves and system setting saves at most.

I really don't know I guess we will find out. I was trying to be positive and think outside the square haha. If it is used for saves then perhaps 1.5gb is not enough. 4GB of ram would be nice. who knows maybe they did  add it into the final version.. fingers crossed. at the same time there is different type of ram with differnt latency levels etc.. so in theory if the wiiU ram (mind you I don't know jsut speculating) was somehow twice as last then the gap betwen 1.5gb and say 4gb might not be too bad. But at the same time it will still buffer less data at a time into ram.

I guess overall, I am hoping some of the suggestions made by 3rd party devs that where not gonna cause outrage price hikes to WiiU got implemented.

Where have you been? This is a new tablet announced yesterday. See my other thread talking about it. It has nothing to do with neXtBox. Furthermore, its real specs are below Wii U's rumored specs.

@cobretti2 and dannesandin

I think the 8GB flash is purely for users who have no interest in digital content.

I think Nintendo will have a 'PRO' model with a usb drive packed in and/or clearly advertise the need for a USB HDD if you decided to use the digital model.

Its also the best solution. Quite a few people will be perfect with very little storage. Me and those of us on this site will likely buy a $50 massive USB HDD. I know for that price I can find just under 1TB and very shortly 1TB+.

I had already posted on your other Microsoft Surface thread.

Obviously this leak could be fake, but I think this came out before the tablets were announced. Look into the specs a little in detail, this isn't the Surface tablets, but rather Xbox Surface xD

  • 7" tablet similar to the GamePad
  • A console unit
  • Wirelesss game controllers

You're absolutely right that the leak came out before the Surface and I think even before E3. However, I think it was just a big mistake by the leaker who pieced together different info into a single idea.

We now know MS has full win8 integration with 360 and neXtBox via Smartglass.

We now know Surface is the new tablet experience that is kinda a child of the original Surface full table device.

We also have solid rumors that the rest of the specs are fairly close to the continuous rumors of Durango. But, that won't be confirmed for awhile.

MS won't name the next Xbox the same as their tablets. It will have a unique name. I really think this is just some leaker getting various info on Ms products and kinda merging them together.

obviusly bullshit specs are bullshit 1.2GB GDDR5? how would you even do that? 4.6 RAM chips? that is not really feasible. And 795Mhz is really slow for GDDR5 RAM should be more like 1Ghz or more.

DDR3 tops out at 266Mhz at the moment (unless they mean Bus speed but that would mean it's quite slow), also LRDIMM RAM is designed for servers it is designed to offer really high capacity at the expense of speed and latency, highly impractical for a console where high speed is important. Also 5GB is an odd ammount as well.

Also 2, 6 core Power 7 CPUs? WTF

Yeah, it'd be incredibly big, clunky, prone to breaking, slow to boot up and cost in excess of $1,000 (probably).

Not even Microsoft are that crazy. Even 1 6-core Power 7 CPU is too much IMO, and the 553DDR is just off.

Also, 1440p? Such a thing exsists now?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
