OT: hmmm it's hard to go against you BHR-3 but it seems unlikely, I think 2012 will be a carbon copy of 2011(until the holidays season) after the holidays season PS3 will slowy lead the consoles about 15k-30k a week, games like Starhawk, Twisted Metal, FF XIII-2, Last Guardian, Meta Gear Rising and whatever might be announced won't cause any huge bumps in hardware, but will be enough to keep sales consistent. I belive Sony will cut the PS3 another $50 if MS decides to do anyprice cut of their own.

Sony basically has Japan and EMEAA in their favor so MS will have to do some wonders to get them on their side(Well japan's probably a lost cause, but EMEAA is winnable) MS can't cut the price too early as it might fade out like the wii, MS does have two behemoth games on their side; Halo and CoD, with a $100 could do some major damage.

but I think what everyone should look out for is the WiiU, it could steal some sales from the PS3 and 360 during the holidays season.

the thing is i agree with you. software wise 360 has Halo and COD, while PS3 has well i'm not quite sure. i know what games are coming out and so far i've counted 7 from Sony alone but not one is on par with COD or Halo4 sells wise but they look like better games.

the other monster in the closest is ME3 which could take one of Sonys key months in March. so really software wise Sony has nothing that will boost hardware but i'm sure we'll know more after GDC.

i think Sony will do a special edition console for the Last Guardian, and Sony will likely make another price cut next yr. to stay ahead of the comp. i expect both consoles sells to start falling.

now for you. stating the obvious and making a long post about it(well its obvious to me anyway) and the past not really playing much into the future of hardware sells. i give your thread an 8.5/10.

FFXIII-2 is getting bundles in US and releases in west in 2012.

So? that franchise is a shadow of its formerself and it's not going to set the world alight, this isn't the PS2 era you know. FF will do little for HW.

Whichever console sells the most, like this year, is nothing to do with a core exclusive (or even a multiplat) I'd go as far as to say even MW3 isn't going to largley affect the outocme)

Nope, I think Sony have a much better chance and will learn from PS3s mistakes. 360 will still lead in US but the gap will be smaller. EMEAA and Japan will be similar to what it is now. SNES will lead in China.
