No wonder the Catholic church is so adamantly opposed to abortion.
No wonder the Catholic church is so adamantly opposed to abortion.

Does this sound awefully similar to the Joe Paterno case? |
I guess so, though I don't really follow football.
Everyone knows that a man raping a male child is OK, while a man having consensual sex with a male adult is the work of Satan.
No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Homosexuality is a sin but paedophilia is ok.
Ah the logic of the loony religious lot.

Actually, his comments would include homosexuality as well. It's just that there hasn't been an uprise of outrage over homosexuality among priests.
The key line is...
"It was maintained - even within the realm of Catholic theology - that there is no such thing as evil in itself or good in itself. There is only a 'better than' and a 'worse than'. Nothing is good or bad in itself."
He is blaming the rise of Paedophillia and many other problems with the church is due to the rise of moral relativism that effected even the catholic church, and is advocating a move back to the existense of some morals that are universal.
He's essentially throwing Paul the 4th under the bus for all the problems in the church today.
That and he seems to be equating a great rise in porn, to a great normalization of said porn. In particular in this case, child pornography. Which no doubt is more available then it was before.
To be fair though, NAMBLA was founded in 1977... however, they never recieved like... widespread support or normilzation. At Nambla's best they were considered equal to gay rights groups at the time, whose standing has increased, not Nambla's standing being decreased.
Oddly enough, Nambla early on was considered a gay rights group actually until the other gay groups got an upswing in popularity and was able to properly ostresize them.
